  6. This kind of thing is getting a little ridiculous.
    The pencils that sit on the desk at some military office somewhere are also involved with the end result. Should people object to making pencils that are bought by the military?

    If these people have a problem with what the military does (and I'm not necessarily saying they shouldn't), perhaps they should get involved with politics instead. That's the right way to solve the problem, rather than hiding behind a letter and thinking that absolves them of something.

    Are you really so myopic that you can't see the bigger picture where an open source case design could be picked up by other manufacturers and become a better standard than the myriad crappy options we have today?

    Is it expensive? Yes.
    With reason? I'd argue "also yes".

    It's a good design, if you look closely. Just because you have money issues doesn't mean the rest of us can't enjoy a company doing nice things and making them available for others to build upon.

    While this seems a little silly on the surface,
    I've noticed since moving to LA that almost nobody uses their turning signals here. It's gotten much worse over the past 7 years.

    I'll take any additional help that the car can give these idiots, but I'm concerned that common adoption of features like this will make people even less likely to signal in advance of doing something stupid.

    It's all moderately interesting, but with the best ones filtered to the top by a human, doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose?

    You should look at the Garmin Fenix5.
    It's metal (with sapphire glass, if you desire), and the battery lasts about 3 weeks with normal use for me.
    The display is a reflective one, with a backlight as well. Some folks don't like this, but I love it. It's great in direct sunlight or the dark.
    Can you install any random app on it? no. But I never really saw the point of most watch apps anyway. I don't think the manufacturer is going away anytime soon.

    This is the only "smartwatch" I've seen that I was even remotely interested in.

    I'm not advocating hate speech, but why is there the need to censor "n****r" when "fucking asshole" was printed in plaintext?

    These are all just words. It's no different than "chink" or "beaner". By censoring them we elevate their status and perpetuate the undesirable meaning behind them. It's just stupid.

    Even slashdot required me to censor it to post. wtf.

    I would love a 4k HDR screen on my phone.
    HD resolution is not quite enough for Asian characters... 4k would make them legible even at small sizes.
    (and HDR is a good thing for obvious reasons)
