I think you guys misunderstood me. I was saying that a movie can do what it wants, but that something like news or a live broad cast that is packaged as being "real" shouldn't do this.
The questions about replacing bilboards in movies is sorta silly, but how do you all feel about this sort of thing happening in, say, a news cast. Or maybe a live broadcast. Apparently this has already happened in live broadcasts and I wouldn't be surprised if newspeople are doing it also. Anything packaged as "real" shouldn't be allowed to do this. I'm not even totally sure why this is wrong, but something very basic to me is very uncomfortable with it. Buy one of those books of old photos of your city/state/neighborhood and you'll see why it's important for them to be unmolested.
It's about time that people with intelligence and money get together to have our say. Even a very small group that is organized can make a difference if their time is used wisely. It's unfortunate but the best way to get our point across is to put our own shills in place in DC to corner the politicos one on one.
I like to see Apple's beautiful designs and ideas seep into the general PC marketplace, but once again, the copy is only skin deep. Unless I'm looking at the picture wrong, the Gateway pc won't have the most important function of the new Imac design, i.e. the amazing flexibility of the placement and angle of the monitor.
You are claiming that the chinese and vikings never attacked people, stole land or had intentions to destroy another group of people? uhhh.....ok....sure...
When you guys started talking about the "bigger ads" that we in store for slashdot, i didn't think that included stories. Come on, "premium Japanese instruments showcase stunning Star Wars graphics created by using a revolutionary computer controlled painting process". That's a straight up tag line from an advertisement full of silly hyperbole, not a blurb from a news article, at least not one i expected here. And please don't bitch me out as a troll or a "sky-is-falling" corporation-hater. I am not the usual/. crybaby and i don't post anon.
I wonder if Visual Basic 6 apps will work with winCE? Also, does it use the windows media player? Attaching a usb harddrive for an mp3/video player, hang it on a wall, wireless keyboard...Do i have to sign up for some BS MSN internet service to get it for 99$?
The line that worries me is regarding "converting" my account to their new scheme. Sounds like a good time for them to raise prices (again) or lower services. Lets hope not.

A must have game (the game compares to actually playing the movie in terms of Graphics and fun) that appeals to all ages. Only on Gamecube. Resident Evil, a title you seem to like, is also on GameCube.
Does anyone know of an CG animated short (that i believe was from pixar) that seemed to revolved around a nightmare and a clown? I saw it once and it reminded me very much of some of the pixar stuff, except it was kinda dark. Any info would be appreciated.
I don't understand, you say 'Gamecube no', but then you compare the PS2 to the Xbox demo units. So how do you come to the negative conclusion about the gamecube?
You stated that:
>>No one here seemed to care much about the 20000
>>people burried under rubble in India back in
>>January (just to pick one example).
However that was untrue. When presented with this fact, you twisted it around to say that we only cared a fraction of what we cared about an American life. Since you didn't (and still don't) know exactly what was sent to India, how do you make this quasi-mathmatecal statement? And anyway why would you? It is disgusting and divisive. You don't know the truth of the matter, but the US MUST not have cared or else they wouldn't fit into your simplistic black and white view of the world. Many times Police, Firemen, EMTs, and Rescue People are sent to other parts of the world to help in disasters, risking their own lives for the lives of others. You dishonor their love and sacrifice with your ignorance.
What are you talking about? Millions of dollars were sent over to India, along with rescue people, to help in the disaster. It was all over the news. How can you say people here didn't care about it?
Also, you never did answer the comment about Nukes. What do you think we should do to stop terrorists from blowing up a nuke in the US?
Your sarcastic comments about the world court are laughable. The US is the only country to ever actually use the 'proper channels'. Everyone else just takes 'em out back and puts a bullet in their head.
And this is war. War with the Taliban, not the Afghani people. The Afghani government is supporting BinLaden with shelter, facilities and soldiers. They have been trying to rally the rest of the Muslim world, but the horror of their action is too great for even our most ardent detractors to support. We must remove the Taliban, and BinLaden and help broken Afghanistan back onto its feet, Marshall plan style.
Anyone talking about using nukes right now is a lunatic.
i tried to go follow the link but my dented lantern had sputtered out and i was afraid i might walk into the slavering fangs of a wandering grue. Strangely enough, my sword started glowing...

Can you put up the link to the remote with the serial port receiver? I can't find it.
If they're only aiming to implement this scheme in 'an Internet reality' then we really have nothing to worry about.
And if i need to "flush out the os" as one post put it, can i put a windows variant on it myself, or do i need to use the linux hack?

When will we finally learn the Secret Of Vulcan Fury?

from your link:
"Many question how Microsoft can profit from a product that kills its users"
Well, the cigarette companies have been doing it for decades.
(....yeah i know it's off topic, but i just counldn't stop myself)
Why was this comment modded down? It is TRUE and ONTOPIC. Looks like abuse to me. Someone should suspend the moderator.
yeah Yeah BINGO! BINGO THE CLOWN-O! Thanks, that's the one.

What we really need is a card that can replace the theme song to Enterprise in real time.

I really love the ability of Slashdot readers to draw out (and argue out) the finer points of their insanity.
