    What an odd question. How would I prove that, any more than you could prove directing the money to basic research would have been better? It's a nonsensical question, like someone asking "If Elizabeth I had married a Catholic monarch, would England have still become the major naval power of its time?"

    Sounds like a good alternate history novel, mind if I use it?

    I'm not a big games player, but I have a PSP and enjoy playing games sometimes. Paying ~ $40 for a UMD is annoying. I have bought used games for far less and with PSP hacks abounding have considered that.

    If games were priced at or about half, I would buy more games new

    Even my cellphone can stream internet radio, so even for portable usage you don't have to rip the stream.

    At this moment I'm using RadioSure to listen to and record a Carlin Album. I use an inexpensive cell phone and a prepaid service because I don't use a cell phone all that much. Streaming internet radio on your phone means a data plan so it costs you WAY more than my plan. Sometimes free costs more than free.

    Been saying this all along. Why buy a one trick pony when so many choices abound? I do not need battery life measure in weeks, 9-12 hours is fine. The netbook also has many more uses and color and can dance backwards in heels.

    Take the violin. Millions made but why is it that a Stradivarius sounds better than all of them? Back then there was no one big musical instrument maker to make a standard to adhere to. Even today the sound of an old Gibson Les Paul or Fender Strat is something a manufacturer might strive for but not quit achieve.

    Quite well actually. Check out how much money we spend on feeding and pampering our pets. Cats and dogs eat better than most people in third world countries.

    Sure some people mistreat their animals, but not the great majority.
