    An incredibly naive conclusion.

    Sorry, but the government can nullify a contract if it is illegal, and in this case it is. The contracted employees fit the IRS' description of full-time employees and deserve the proper benefits.

    You still need to find a lawyer that doesn't mind getting disbarred.

    Back to the real point, a few states have laws preventing this type (SLAPP) of behavior. Really, have a little faith in our legal system -- the judges can see these cases for what they are.

    Exactly. There's a lot of math in properly sizing pipes or when pumps are added to the picture (flow rates, loss through pipes, lift, etc.).

    Trial and error probably works too, but I'm sure it's much more expensive.

    The hydrogen at this station is contained in a dual wall stainless steel pressure vessel (which is then contained in a fiberglass shell). If anything breaches the first cylinder it is vented to the atmosphere via a specially designed vent.

    Assuredly there are numerous valves designed to shut things down if any rapid pressure changes are encountered ... it's just such a non-issue.

    This is not at all infeasible and is done quite frequently. It's not very economical though as the power company will only pay back at wholesale rates.

    Yes, the power man would be in for a shock if the loads weren't properly handled. The power company will require that a cut-off switch (to cut output when the power goes out) be installed for any grid-tie setups.

    A cheapo ($10) servo is capable of turning 60 degrees in .2 seconds with around 40 oz/in of torque. Fancier ones will have double the torque at about the same speed.

    Should be fast enough.

    Afterall, it's easier to find any given option if it's "hidden" in three places instead of just one.

    Where Firefly is "gritty western" style, Bebop is "gritty urban" style. The grittiness is about the only similarity, but the characters of both series do have about equal depth, if you want to mark that as a similarity.

    You have NEVER needed a license to USE a patented product. Don't let companies convice you that one does.


    Wrong. Check the case law. The use of a patented item can be subject to a license that states how the item may be used.

    That is fucking arrogant. I was replying to the comment that suggested that it seemed "obvious" that power from a slow speed river could be harnessed by simply gearing up the system. What he's going to end up with is a bunch of water that just flows around his paddles because he'll never be able to tune his belts and gears well enough to overcome the friction in them.

    Without any head he's going to find it really difficult to get any power from that river, and whenever your brain is able to advance about 100 years you might finally realize that as well.

    Any sort of gearing or belt system robs power from your generator. Direct-drive whenever possible.
