    If it's that large, nothing short of a nuke will take it out quickly. A big fire might take it out eventually, but it will take a while.

    Looking at the concept art, it looks like a fire would have a hard time spreading throughout the structure.

    It's pretty dangerous to exit a skyscraper from the side halfway up. A pyramid, however, can have dozens of exits all over it's surface. They may not be all that safe, depending on the slope, but better than straight down. After all, it's an emergency exit.

    Such people embarrass the rest of us. I despise abortion, but measures like that are completely uncalled for.

    - teaching creationism in schools?

    That theory that most people have mislabeled as evolution (evolution is a species changing over many generations, not amino acids in a warm pond) has too many inconstancies to take seriously.

    - killing stemcell research?

    Many people (including myself) equate destroying the embryo with murder. Avoid that, and there shouldn't be any problems.

    - invading other countries?

    Give me a break. Bush != Christianity.

    - flying planes into things?

    Some people are psychotic. Don't blame the rest of us for it.

    - touching choirboys?

    Nobody (that I know) pretends that was right, including the Catholic Church. Why would they try to hide it if they didn't think it was wrong? And not everybody adheres to the Catholic version of Christianity, anyways.

    That's a lot more complicated than it sounds, and everybody feels that their favorite department isn't the cone that needs to be cut back. In fact, they could use a few of the $$$s you free up from somewhere else.

    The file was writable only by root, so of course, I "sudo gedit"...

    I think proper procedure for GUI apps is to use gksu (or kdesu for KDE). I haven't bothered finding out why, though.

    No it won't. Users don't actually read error messages and notifications *mutters while going around the office turning on systems for updates after having the server give notifications throughout the day to leave computers on*.

    For many people, the image of a mainframe computer is a complex of dozens of refrigerator-sized cabinets containing tape drives, disks, processors, and communications hardware located in a freezing room, consuming enough electricity to power a small city.
