The Republic is now an Empire.. with the centurions carrying assault rifles
Save your rhetoric until it comes time for the new President (futilely wishing for a third-party winner here) to be sworn in. Emperors aren't in the habit of peacefully (no matter how begrudgingly) handing over the reigns to someone else (maybe Castro?).
One could make the argument that the President isn't really the one in control (a la Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), but most rants are against Bush specifically.
Also, I haven't seen many assault-rifle-wielding policemen (unless SWAT counts)
Like the AC said, they will say meta-package in the description. And it will be ridiculously small. Like someone else pointed out: KDE doesn't take up only ~40kiB.
I see 3 install ISOs. Debian has 21 images, but you only really need the first one to install with a GUI. IIRC, openSUSE 10.1 required a minimum of 3 discs out of 5. So tell me: Which ISOs do I need to have KDE installed at boot? My ISP doesn't like it when I download CD images, so I want to avoid downloading all three if at all possible. Unfortunately, I am not connected to the Internet by a wire, so unless one can use a WPA2 wifi connection during the installation, a netinstall is out of the question. Thanks.
Remind me how well that's going for you again? Oh yeah, that's right - Vista has 4 times the desktop market share even though it's only been out a ninth of the time Linux has.
With all that marketshare comes one very big advantage: Momentum. Even if MS never releases anything again, they will still have a sizable. marketshare in 7 years, much less 3.
Every product I have owned, or belonged someone close to me, have failed within two years.
A generic holy relic like a Mac cannot prevail against the darkest and most maevolent evil aura like the one surrounding you, Dark Lord Ballmer. To overcome that we need the Glorious Turtleneck./joke (I shouldn't need this, but the mods just aren't recognizing satire these days)
I think I read somewhere (/.?) that one physicist tried beaming a light through a metal block (I think it was copper) to test how much got through, and found that what little made it through the metal block arrived at the sensor faster than the control test (about 5x c?).

I blame idle.slashdot.org
Most of those are about the "Spam King" that killed himself and his family.
Head up the stairs (to ground level), down the hall, and out the door. You should be able to find a bumper to stare at for a few hours.

I am currently running Debian, I just want to expand my horizons a bit.
And I have never quite figured out configuring WiFi through the CLI.

I don't see much diffrence between 95 and 98's UIs...

I don't think IBM is picky about who they sell hardware to. And Apple left PPC because they didn't want to be stuck with a single supplier.
I hate Apple because:

Someone already beat you to it.
Let me guesss... 42? 1337? 3.141592653589793helpimtrappedinauniversefactory7108914...?
You mean he.
Even the car in front. He's honking at the 2 or 3 cars running the red light.
Oops.
<devil'sadvocate>He admits hit numbers were wrong. We get it. But him being wrong doesn't necessarily mean that yours were right. </devil'sadvocate>
Other way around. They are saying that gas giants form far away and move inward.

This is Slashdot. Isn't that supposed to be:

Maybe I should have mentioned the helicopters or tanks as well.
At least the spearmen will always be relevent.
