    In the United States, political correctness has concluded that all human behavior (in a "normal" person) is due to nurture and free will.

    Funny, from my point of view political correctness has concluded just the opposite: that free will to commit reprehensible acts is a myth.

    • Simple javascript whitelisting (& temporary whitelisting) from a statusbar button. (NoScript)

    Is it really bricked, or is the OS just disabled? If I build a computer, I own it. If I suffer a case of temporary insanity and install Windows on it, the computer is still my computer even if Microsoft decides to disable the installation.

    Yes, but if someone tries to create a new Biosphere and call the project "GeoCity", a website about the project will find itself needlessly blocked by filter rules set years ago and were never removed.

    That will prevent us from running out of unblocked IP addresses, but it does nothing to aviod being bitten by filtering rules based on a previously bad domain name (like geocities.com).

    No, reckless driving is nothing more and nothing less than reckless driving. That law doesn't care what your BAC is, all that matters is that you are still in control of the car.

    That does NOT mean they are entitled to write a single book or song in their 20s, and then sit on their ass for the rest of their lives.

    Entitled? No. But if their work is good enough that they earn enough money to do so in only a few years of copyright protection (J. K. Rowling), so be it.

    Similarly, I bought a few DVDs for my daughter, but they show 15 minutes worth of unskippable, not age appropriate ads and then get stuck on the menu rather than automatically playing the content.

    I watch DVDs in VLC, and am always surprised when I stick the disk in a regular DVD player and find ads.

    Admin access should be a requirement listed on the box so I know which poorly written games to avoid.

    I'd prefer that it be a requirement for getting the "Works with Windows 7" sticker.

    One day I hear Linux has great hardware support. It's not like Linux in the past, we even have *BETTER* hardware support than Windows now.

    It does.
    Linux supports hardware.
    Hardware supports Windows.
