I've not really seen anything with MacOS that has impressed me in the last several releases. Windows however has been steadily improving. Windows Subsystem for Linux closes a lot of the gap for me.
You mean a laptop with a keyboard that doesn't suck? I say this as a 10 year MBP user who is getting a Thinkpad next week because it sure feels like they have abandoned the pro market. If I want an OS that is abandoned and turning into iOS and a keyboard that is unusable, I'll be sure to come back:/
I replaced a glued in keyboard on my daughter's Macbook Air last month. It was a MASSIVE pain in the ass and took two hours, but the total cost was $50 vs the $700 that the Apple Store was going to charge for it.
Don't spill nail polish remover on your keyboards, people.
That is terrible, I've been an OIM consultant for a decade and I've never once run across an implementation that did not use custom connectors (in several cases, exclusively custom connectors).
Sailpoint has probably the best UI and access certification system around. Unfortunately their provisioning engine is a rebranded BMC Control-SA as I understand it. If that is still the case, no thank you:(
I'm an implementer of OIM (10 years now). OIM is an excellent framework for a provisioning tool, but the connectors are terrible (fortunately easy to build your own against the API) and the UI is useless. The most successful OIM implementations I've come across (or built) have been ones that used a custom UI and/or just made everything scriptable. The API is really the saving grace of OIM. It's confusing, but it is powerful.
Sadly, I'm watching the product spiral downhill as of the last several versions.
No really an apology for google though, more of a "here is how google royally screwed up in their relationships with carriers that Apple and Microsoft seem to have gotten right".
True, but if the police have you, and you refuse to unlock the phone (and Apple says they cannot), I suspect they can get your fingerprint pretty easily.
I'm all for nuclear, I guess the part I don't get is why solar has no part. Maybe not from an industrial power grid scenario but I know two people who are supplying most (in one case all) of their home's power via solar. Are they doing something wrong? Is this hurting the chance for nuclear somehow?
This would win me back as well. I'd be willing to overlook the dumbing down (and let's be honest, basically abandonment) of OSX even.
That effort required has become a LOT closer in recent years. I've switched. (after 15 years)

I'm with you. I ended up going with a Lenovo X1 Extreme.

The keyboard and overall build quality is lightyears better than the current generation for that matter.

Slightly lighter than my Macbook Pro and is being immediately wiped and having Linux installed. I will enjoy.
I moved on this week. Literally, just placed my order on a Lenovo X1E after using a Macbooks professionally for almost 20 years.
Excellent, I'll have to check that out.

The out of box connectors are amateurish at best.

ForgeRock IDM or MidPoint are cheaper (read: open source) than both. But neither have quite the feature set yet.

In one case, the passengers can (and will, it's been done) rise up and fight the attacker.
In the only case there is no recourse, your only option is to sit there and die.
You wouldn't download a car would you?
Also a fair point. I cannot believe is 2015 and Google still hasn't figured this out.
No really an apology for google though, more of a "here is how google royally screwed up in their relationships with carriers that Apple and Microsoft seem to have gotten right".
Depends on the car. Jeep Wranglers are not bad.
Somebody never had a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon.
Worst phone experience ever. All parties involved should be ashamed.

I believe this is correct.
I've not run into a limit, not sure what it is.
I have no doubt most people's are very hackable.
Mine is a 15 character complex password.
Well, and a thumbprint, which I suspect is the more likely attack vector.
