    With all the weird, at least from our point of view, products on the Japanese market, how long do you think it will be before there is Kombu Whiskey on the shelves there, considering they would probably have to age it a bit first!

    Consider that relieving stress in one area, builds stress in another, if you ever played Jenga, then you know what happens! I bet they are real careful around the New Madrid fault line, but what happens when the faults around the New Madrid start to move? Do we suddenly lose a large portion of the center of the country? Just clear up something, they shut down the waste water injection well. Fracking is not the cause of the earthquakes, it is the disposal of the waste water produced in the fracking process and subsequent operation of the well! I live close enough that I felt the 4.0 magnitude earthquake qite clearly, though since this is Ohio it took me some time to figure out it actually was an earthquake! This is the first one I have ever felt in 66 Years!

    My ubuntu 11.10 is fully up to date, plus both Firefox and Java up to date and Pogo works fine! I do hope pogo is worth living with know security holes in your system!

    Well if you deal out Microsoft, Apple And Google, you are left with not much but Linux as an alternative! I for one would love to see this happen as resources and money would have to be poured in to make Linux distributions and applications that were world class!

    Looks promising! Though I still like two panels, both top and bottom, they serve different purposes. I also like to have certain applets running, system monitor at the top and netspeed monitor at the bottom! Lets just say I like Gnome2 and want something as close to that as I can get and still stay up to date with all the fixes and patches! Oh, and at least this one has what looks like to be a usable Applications menu, now if we can just get the system menu back!

    You might like the stuff from Ed Howdershelt then! He has a heck of a deal on his website. 30 book for $30! He has some free samples up so you can try before you buy. He is also At Fictionwise.com and Amazon.com. The stuff from his website and Fictionwise is Non-DRMed, so can be read on just about anything! Tow good SF series, one kind of a semi autobiographical erotica series, a couple straight erotica stories, and pretty darn good reads!

    Forget the comets "jet"! For a simple explanation of the effect on the comet, see The Rollings Stones by Heinlein! To gain velocity dive toward a planet or sun and reduce the mass of your craft on the way in, via whatever means, then you have a net gain in velocity on the way out!

    Yep, there are, and we mainly use them as a Courtesy to our Windows using friends and family, since the viruses they stop don't effect us, we just don't want to pass them on to those less fortunate, or less computer savvy!

    The heck with typing commands! If that is what you want then a Commodore64 is what you long for, or DOS! I went from the Coleco Adam to the Atari1040STe, to Win95 and stayed with windows till 2007 when Ubuntu matured enough that I didn't have to constantly type in the CLI! My mind and memory just don't work in the manner conducive to working with CLI! I want to be able to do things using Drag and drop and mouse cllcks, and mostly only type to enter data or use the very few keyboard shortcuts that have actually stuck due to constant use! I do not want to pretend that I am using a touch screen with my keyboard and mouse! I like being able to see my up and download speeds at the bottom of my screen and CPU usage and temperature at the top along with the few applications that I routinely use, I hate digging through four or five levels of stupidity to find an application that I don't use so often, I like it on the drop down menu where I can spot it very fast! I like to be able to search synaptic package manager, and no their dumbed down app center doesn't really replace it!

    you can get most of that back by doing an apt-get install gnome-panel then log out and as you log back in click the gear on the log in screen and choose Ubuntu classic! If you still have your separate home partition that you last used the gnome desktop on most of your setting will take effect and your top and bottom panels will be back, you can have your applets back also!

    Bingo! Lets not take advantage of the fact that we have a keyboard and a mouse and go with a design for fat fingers on a touch screen! That way the "Users", don't have to get their heads around having two separate ways to do things!

    You have hit it spot on and not only that, but Ubuntu was getting faster to start and shutdown with each version, Oops, startup and shutdown times have just about tripled in Ubuntu 11.10. The whole thing seems slower, much of the functionality and features have gone away! What makes sense on a touch screen tablet or smart phone, does not necessarily make sense on a desktop with a keyboard and mouse! You can some or most of the "Classic" stuff back, just sudo apt-get install gnome-panel, then log out and before you log back in click the gear icon on the log-in prompt, you will have top and bottom panels available and you can switch between running app with a simple mouse click in the bottom panel, you can install applets and custom launchers to your heats content! haven't managed to get the System menu back where it belong, it is now under Applications menu but everything is back where it belongs!

    Wow, what a great idea! With these the normal way of spotting those operations by power usage is totally eliminated! Covert grow operations will be lining up to buy these in droves! DEA will have to buy a lot more dogs and thermal imaging equipment, since they won't be able to depend on the electric company to spot for them any more!!

Want to find out where the enemy are, or are heading just check for the damage made by numbers of humans moving through the area! Your enemy wears sophisticated camouflage, no sweat, this can detect the difference easily!

    Funny how the ONLY eBooks by my favorite authors that they do carry are the one from publishers that demand DRM, and they carry none of the book from Baen publishing that does non-DRMed eBoooks! Seems like a much of an Amazon policy as the publishers' policy!

    You can, you just have to be careful what and where you buy! It's called voting with your wallet! If you like the right type of SF&F then http://www.webscription.net/ is one such place, then there is Fictionwise.com's mutiformat books they are DRM free, lots of places like that around you just have to look for them and not get seduced by the Amazons and B&Ns of the world!

    It actually seems like the politicos have woken up to the fact that they can be tracked also! To what locations? If I had to guess, their mistresses house or that meeting with the under the table contributor, or whatever other shady thing they want to keep hidden! From their performance over the last 11 years, I haven't seen much concern for people's rights in evidence from them!

    Sudo apt-get install gnome-panel, then restart and click on the gear icon at the log-on screen and choose Ubuntu Classic and it is all better, well mostly! Seems a bunch of stuff has gone away, but you can install synaptic! I hate how they are dumbing down the whole thing and making it suitable for use on a tablet, or phone that they don't even have! Switching form one application to another is just so clumsy with Unity!

    Uh, you have heard of the Kindle haven't you! you might also want to check into Amazons Proprietary eBook format that can only be read by Kindle or kindle apps! So yes they are looking for a "lock-in" just like Apple does with iPad and their ilk! They have an opportunity to out Apple Apple, since they can get away with a less feature rich device selling at a loss!

    Not that long ago, these people knew they were nuts because they were the only people that they knew that believed in this stuff, then along came Art Bell, and they found out they were not alone, there were lots of others that believed all sorts of weird stuff! He almost single-handedly legitimized the Kooks, Crazies, Tin-foil hatters, Ufologists and Black Helicopter people! To say nothing of the just plain old conspiracy people!

    That doesn't really happen with Ubuntu Linux. Normally the only times you will see that password prompt is when you are making changes to the system, or installing and uninstalling software, (making changes to the system), The real difference is most of our software comes from pretty secure repositories, so you aren't going to see a Helly Kitty screen saver in the first place. Under normal conditions you will never have to use your password except for authorizing update manager to install the updates, which we don't have to wait till some certain one day in the month to get. You can even set your personal machine to log you in without needing your password. I don't recommend this for laptops that leave your home or office though! Some of us even use ClamAV so that we do not pass on Windows malware to our friends that still use Windows. The problem is Windows users are trained from the start that they need to search the internet to find their applications and utilities. It a cold cruel world out their on the net, with many a dark alley just full of stuff waiting to bite them in the butt!

As for the Adaption of the Back hairs, that probably happened when the Rats that had hair better able to absorb the saliva lived longer to have more descendents than the ones that got eaten early because their hair didn't hold enough poison to deter predators!
