    This might be true for a Business, but or an average user, the savings is very large, well unless they just get a copy of all that software from their friend that works at XYZ company and brings his copy to use at home! For the average computer user, it is as easy as popping in a CD, hitting reset, answering a couple of questions and waiting a half-hour!

    There are too many people that haven't a clue as to how much time and money they are wasting on Microsoft products and all the other software that you need to make that work! Of course they aren't actually paying for most of it! How many people do you know personally that have actually paid for the versions of Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office they are using, though they do have to pony up for their commercial Anti-virus programs to get the updates, well that is if they aren't smart enough to use something like AVG or Avast. Their computer came with Windows and that is what they will use till they buy the next one, which will also come with Windows, though some with a lot more money and a little more brains will buy from Apple and get on that treadmill instead! It's only the totally P.O.ed, fed up and just a bit smarter or desperate that will even think to try Linux, though once they do they will never go back! Once a slave throws off his shackles he will fight like hell to keep them off!

    Looking at the post about the RC Group and checking out the article and following up on Geodetic Structure, it seems to me that the ability to use a geodetic structure approach, makes this plane a whole lot better, in a way that can't easily be done by any other method. It's lighter and stronger that the normal spars and ribs used normally! It even looks like the geodetic structure is integral with the skin! Though if the wings were made all in one piece, I bet they had a tough time hooking up the linkages for the control surfaces.

    Well I went ahead and clicked on the Wilderness downtown, using Firefox 5 in Ubuntu 11.04 and it seemed to work just fine, at least from the comments as well as in Chrome anyhow, lots of open windows, etc. showed the old home site in Google maps or Earth and a few other things with music playing! The interactive leave a message part worked also!

    I propose that the First ones in the US to be tested are the Congressmen and Senators and all elected and appointed officials of the Federal and State Governments! The way they have been acting for a while has aroused my suspicions that they are not all in their right minds!!!

    To late for the GE lamp Plant in my Home town. It's gone and has been for years now. This will be a boon for cheap incandescent bulbs produced in China and the Eastern European countries! Does anyone know if there are any incandescent bulbs actually still produced in the USA? Might be a few specialty ones, but I bet the majority of plants have been shutdown and possibly bulldozed by now! To Little to Late as usual!

    All part of the larger plan! To get it to run right, you need that shiny new machine that comes with Windows pre-installed! OEMs make money, Microsoft makes money, and you are still a productive serf in the Microsoft world!

    OH, Heresy! You are trying to take away Microsoft's Biggest money maker of all times. Every version of Windows needs a new machine for it to run acceptably and every new machine comes with Windows pre-installed! New version, new flood of cash! Though now it seems that some sneaky people are building low powered devices that can't run full versions of Windows, so the Softies have to do some backtracking to pick up all the Users they have lost to iOS, Android and Linux, since they are killing XP, and Windows CE doesn't cut it anymore! Wouldn't want them to get accustomed to the idea that they can actually get along without Windows, now would we!

    ...until you sober up and realize that the liquor store is 20 miles away. So, just have it delivered. i don't know where you live, most probably someplace like New York City, but most places in this Country that is not an option! You got to get your lazy *ss off the couch and go get your own booze, unless you have a friend that you REALLY trust with your money and your booze that owns a car! So back to the same problem once removed!

    One scenario that I can see it coming in handy for is when you are near the end of a fairly long flight and your destination airport is socked in. With this thing, you can land at the nearest Field with reasonable conditions and finish your trip on the Highway! Then after your business is done, you drive to your original destination airfield and take off, without having to drive however short or far back to the alternate field to reclaim your plane!

    Unity is bad enough by itself! It makes it extremely difficult to get to the tools you need to do quite a lot of things. I was hoping that it would get better in the future, but this announcement has me thinking that is not going to happen, and those things are just going to get buried deeper than they are now! We know that the "Classic" option is going away soon and it looks like the dumbing down isn't going to stop till Ubuntu is only fit to run on a smart phone touch screen! Mint Linux is looking better everyday, as they have said they are not going the Unity route and are keeping a desktop GUI that you can actually do things with, without having to resort to CLI all the time! As I am pretty much CLI illiterate and don't have the type of memory that can remember long path names and obscure commands and switchs and the syntax that needs to be typed in perfectly to get things done that way, Mint is going to be a life saver for me! sudo nautilus is what I use to set permissions on files, so you can figure just how much I dislike the CLI!!!

    Darn, I left the "Wild West" of Windows programs behind, and I am sure not going to start installing stuff from people I have no reason to trust now! I'll stick to the Linux repositories and a few (Very few) trusted applications from people and places I Know are trustworthy! I don't even have to get into the whole issue of multiple copies of the same files spread all over my system!

    Well, you must remember the target audience is Apple Users! Apple will build it and Steve will wave his magic wand of approval and they will buy it, in droves! Then the Apple specific vendors will jump on the money wagon and it will be a Standard, well an Apple Standard anyhow! I on the other hand will be quite happy with eSATA, USB 3, a dedicated Video port, and Ubuntu! 8-)

    Well, at least it worked for her! I'd have been willing to give it a try, BUT, they broke the Nvidia Driver I need to use it at all! Tried the Classic and it was full of bugs and glitches like disappearing and reappearing window decorations, and many other things! Luckily I have a separate /home partition, with that and a 10.10 CD, I got back up and running again! Have been trying Xubuntu 11.04 out and it works pretty well, but I miss some of the things that are in Ubuntu 10.10 by default, plus the ability to customize things there!

    Selling the info is bad enough, but at least those who buy it are JUST going to be trying to sell you stuff! The ones who steal or hijack this info are much more likely to cause you a lot more harm, and since it is going to be spread around to many different organizations and businesses, inevitably some are not going to adequately secure the data and it will be stolen and sold again to be used for criminal purposes! I predict that not too far in the future, if it isn't already available, there will be those cruising your street and harvesting this info direct from the source, or hacking into it remotely for the same reason, just cutting out the middle man!

    Even if they get all the rest right, I didn't see any directional controls on Gammera, so staying in the 10 meter box might be the biggest challenge, especially if they are depending on weight shifting of the pilot for control while she is peddling like mad with both hand and feet!

    Some of us would like to use the newer versions of the Applications, which Do Not appear in the repositories for the older versions of the OS! To get anything other than a security update you need to transition to the newer version of the OS to get for example Firefox 4, If you do it any other way you are not going to be able to do a simple upgrade next time, you will have to do a clean install!

    My complaint is not they changed it, but they broke it! Unity will not run on my system! My system was just fine nice nad snappy with all the 3D bells and whistles turned on in 10.10! In 11.04 I can't even get a working desktop! Check the problems with the 173 Nvidia driver, and no I can't just pop in a nother video card since this system is an older AGP one!

    "It just works" quit working for me in 11.04! Seems they made some changes that broke the 173 Nvidia driver! When I did a clean install of 11.04 and got to the desktop all I had was the default background and nothing else! Right clicking brought up the change desktop background dialog box, but it only flickered on briefely (just enough to make out what it was) then back to the background pic for a bit then repeat, eventually used the keystroke short cuts to get to the fklickering log out dialog and after several attemps got to the "Classic" mode, windows were missing all window decorations and stuck to the top of the screen, totally unusable! So Ubuntu 11.04 on my system "Just Doesn't Work", I did a clean install of 10.10 and will be looking for a new distro, since buying a new computer to run the new version of the OS is one of the reasons I ditched Windows in the first place, well that and updates breaking my machine!

    To say nothing of the problem many are having when they install Ubuntu 11.04 and find out that their video card is not compatible with the new OS, well unless they are willing to give up accelerated 3D and be content with a 2D environment for their OS, and that doesn't even work very well!

    Now all they have to do is convince the Auto makers to standardize the batteries they use and give up the advantage of advertising that their vehicle gets X miles more on the road than vehicle Y!

    I for one would love a system where I could trade my old no longer able to hold a full charge battery for a nice new one! That would be the main problem with that system! For it to work all the vehicles would have to have standardized batteries bought or leased from the charging company!

    Wow! How did I know that the Apple User Interface Police had the situation under control! 8-) They have been on the job since the 128K Mac days and before! I had no doubts that if a developer tried to do it "His Own Way", he's get his finger slapped and his App pulled!
