I've been playing around with this a bit
http://www.sandboxie.com/
even though it puts your browser in a sandbox, you can move anything you downloaded to it to your system. I'm not sure how well it works I've only just found it.
You're misinterpreting what I've said because you seem hung up on the hostile nature of my post. Slow and unproductive are relative, who said we're talking about a work environment? Who said the person using it care about speed or productivity?
I'm talking about good enough hardware. I said "good enough" is determined by the intended use of the machine I also said if all your doing is surfing the internet and checking your webmail, that PII if it still works why replace it. You seem to be somehow construing that I'm saying it is as good as todays technology or that it is an appropriate solution for everyone. In this you are wrong. I'm not even saying that there aren't times when people do require better faster hardware. It is all about intended use.
I actually don't build computers for my friends and I find it very immature of you to attack my character for expressing an opinion on what I see as a culture obsessed with the newest hardware they can get their mits on. I'm calling you all out on your preconceived notions that old hardware can't be put to use and is obviously to crap to be able to do anything. Let me say it again; IT IS ALL ABOUT INTENDED USE. SO I still argue that a PII could very well be good enough for someone, on the other hand any type of Production Systems should have a baseline and a replacement schedule. See how INTENDED USE can work both ways here.
There's more to a processor than just raw Mhz, if you don't understand this then you are just betraying your own ignorance.
Again, did I say anything suggesting that there wasn't more to a processor than raw mhz? You seem to be reading a lot more into my post than what I wrote. Yes new processors have a wildly different architecture and can do all sorts of things and handle information and process in threads etc etc like older models can't. Did you have a point with this
Wow the level of bullshit is through the roof here. I'm not just talking about this particular conversation either. "good enough" is determined by the intended use of the machine. Do I need quad cores and extreme video if all I do is check my webmail and surf a few websites, would a machine with a PII handles this? I swear its like some of you have bought into the upgrade the hardware/ stay on the bleeding edge bullshit so much that you refuse to see a possible situation where older hardware (be it good or bad) could be good enough for someone. BTW this is not a new concept the "good enough computer" has been discussed for years. Why do you think many people rock their old hardware? Yes I will give for some it is a money issue, but for many it is a:why replace something when it works fine for them.
Now then;flame on!
Truthfully if you think you need shielded, look at fiber, the prices have come down, and while copper isn't as expensive as it was a few months back it is still up there. You'll shell out a bit more but you'll have a better network for it.
Ninjas don't leave evidence nor any other trace , kinda part of being a ninja. See if a Ninja hijacked a ship they'd also erase all traces of its existence; yes they are very thorough. Then after they were done with that they'd whip out an electric guitar and rock hard.
(all my assumptions are based of 80's Ninja movies)
They have shoes like that, they are specifically for track/running. (google track shoes) They don't have much of a heal at all. The sole of the shoe is actually designed to run on your toes. Most of them have spikes though. I think most of the shoes you see marketed as "running shoes" are really just cross trainers and not specifically tailored to running.
I also have to wonder about the motivated couch potato effect. You know where someone who is fairly non athletic and all decides or is "motivated" by someone or something to get in shape. Goes out buys the most expensive trainers they can find(so they can run faster) and goes for a run. Pushes themselves to hard because "no pain no gain" and pulls a muscle or rolls an ankle.
So how many MMO's does it take to consider it a flooded market. The entirety of the MMO community does not revolve around 1 game (WoW) regardless of their share of the player base.(how many people do you know that have more than 1 subscription) Have you seen how many different titles there are? Have you seen how many are in development/beta phases? Yes I assume most of them would love to have the same popularity that WoW has. Which is why you have so many MMOs...wait for it... flooding the market in hopes of claiming the title "WoW Killer".
I completely agree with this, the market is just to flooded. The quality of the games has gone down, and the support for them just isn't there. Look at how Warhammer and Conan have had to cut servers, both had a fairly large launch, but neither held onto the players. So I would expect to see the older generation of MMO's start to phase out, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the newer games dropped down to a handful of servers.
So when I was trying to find out what my ISP's version of "unlimited" was it took me forever to actually find the page where they list the caps for the different tiers they have. I'd get pissed and switch to a different provider but it's not really an option, which seems to me to be the main reason for the poor customer service. Most of us have 2 options if we are lucky, not a lot of need for them to compete for our business.
Call of Duty 4 is not as specific, it is a more generalized view of the current time. Six days in Fallujah is very specific, and for those that lost loved ones there it is a reminder to that fact. Also Call of Duty 4 was and is not without it's own controversy.
Battlegrounds RPG is the one that we invested the most time in trying to get up and running. Several of us did, but there were a couple people in our group that just couldn't get it to work. We tried a couple others I don't recall offhand what they were called. I'll find out when I get home. Ultimately we ended up using Skype. I would be interested to hear if anybody else has had success with any of these virtual tabletop programs.
I think a lot of us were. All the online tools they talked of in D&D insider. The collaborative game space program that would let you play D&D with your buddies who've since scattered to remote parts of the world. I know there are programs for this but all the ones my group has tried haven't worked very well.
Just try not to let the douchebag actions of WoTC ruin the game for you.
Odd I know a lot of people who enjoy 4e, then again I heard the same thing when they went to 3.5. I heard the same thing when D&D was no longer owned by TSR, etc etc. Point is it's different and still around. The neat thing is you don't have to upgrade to 4e if you don't want to. Hell if you liked the first incarnation of D&D you could still play that.
Let me just join the masses and say; BOOO this bill sucks! I personally dislike any provision that grants any sort of power without defining circumstances or limitations. It will just be abused.
Agreed, and I also see hard copy video games sticking around for a different reason. The major ISP's are playing with transfer caps, and quite frankly, even on the best connection available to me (15Mbps) download a multi Gig game still takes longer than driving to the store. So until our infrastructure is beefier I do not foresee the death of hard copies.

.. that sounds similar to what Age of Conan advertised, and we all know how that went.
http://www.onrpg.com/MMO/Free-MMORPG Has a bunch of free MMOs. They might have something that interests you.

This makes my brain hurt.. A search and seizure due to a non windows OS...

at best you still take half damage.
Explosive Runes would be more appropriate.
Don't know about PDF but there is always ebay, then you can make your own PDF; just don't tell WoTC. ;)

...and there are studies that say a short nap during the workday make people more productive. Now who here has an authorized nap time at work?
