  1. I notice you weren't concerned about the _proven_ Russian interference in our political process. Fucking traitor, you and the rest of the trumpsters.

  2. Except for accelerating destruction of environmental protections, rolling back consumer protections, increasing corporate welfare (and thereby wealth disparity) in the form of the repugnican tax scam, breaking of promises (Iran nuclear agreement) to our allies and others, etc. Yeah, things are going same as always... Really though?

We're all aging drivers. If a cute Japanese female comes to take me out of my car and helps me burn off energy so I can fall asleep, I would not be at all displeased.

I had a similar situation because I passed out and had a seizure. Eventually I got a doctor who got me the right diagnosis, I had blacked out from lack of oxygen (due to friend having fallen asleep on top of me) when I stood up quickly, then I hit my head on the floor and seized. Impact seizure, not a recurring or chronic problem so I became normal again. :-). My problem came because the ambulance got called and the paramedics reported it.

Although in retrospect, it should be every year starting at 80. Make the first test every year free, so it isn't a financial burden for the elderly, they already have enough issues with the fucked social net previous generations foisted on us. Oh snap! They did it to themselves!

    1. I think you two agree more than you realize. Both want a better public transit system so that is something significant.

    2. The car fetish is less prevalent than you think and less so with the younger generation (of which I think neither of you are). Kids (people under 25) nowadays are pretty content with catching an Uber (or more commonly I've observed in L.A. a Lyft), even relatively poor kids who work at Starbucks and the like. I fully expect my pre-teens to never have to learn how to drive, due to self-driving cars and the aforementioned apps/services. My 11 year-old though stated she can't wait to start driving at 16 though... we'll see.

    3. Maybe something like a subsidized, regional uber/lyft like service could fill in the public transportation gap?

As to your point on the sensors detecting ketones, I didn't disagree as you've no doubt noticed. I didn't disagree because I really know nothing about them so I took it as given that you were correct on that point. Which was actually sloppy of me considering that you were wrong on the topic that I did know about, I blame my laziness..

Some are, some aren't. I was keto for the better part of 5 years so I'm well aware of such things. However, the primary drivers for a ketogenic diet are: high-fat, low-carbs, and moderate to low protein. Nowhere on that list you'll notice is "skip vegetables". Non and low carb vegetables: all salad-type greens, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, etc... Here's a couple of lists for you friend:

Skipping your veggies doesn't put you in ketosis. Not eating carbs and sugars does. It takes longer than a day to enter ketosis, though as the body has to become fat adapted.

On the whole slashdot is about fat neckbeards who like to eat cheetos and drink mountain dew. They prefer freedom to be addicted or "entertained" by porn and video games.

The left is very much more for privacy as are slashdotters other than the copious russian trolls, whereas the right (neocons nowadays) are for whatever looks like strong anti-crime posturing.

I think that most slashdotters (other than recent arrivals/russian trolls) are much more on the left than on the right. Similar to the makeup of Silicon Valley and other thinking regions.
