Well a lot of what we have from ancient Greek culture is religous material, and that shit is wack!
Even so, no one goes around saying the Greeks were idiots.
Does anyone else get the impression that Iran doesn't really want to fight anyone, they just want to get other country's goats?
Like first they had a nuclear program and Bush flipped shit, so now they are going into space to see how much more angry they can make him.
It always annoys me when I'm running an instance for the first time, and I go slowly and try to understand all of the quest dialogue and try to talk to all the NPCs so I can understand the reason for the instance, but my group is just rushing through because it's the millionth time they've run it.
I get the feeling that they weren't trying really hard with this trailer.
When they made trailers for Diablo and Starcraft, they were trying to sell games. For Wrath of the Lich King they don't really need to sell the game, because people are going to buy it anyways.
For example this trailer doesn't even really show what the game is about. IMO this trailer was just to make the existing WoW players even more rabid (and it suceeded:D).
Another problem is the small, independent labels, not to mention musicians who manage without a label. Think they'll get any money? Think again. The major labels have decades of experience lobbying government, so who do you think will end up administrating this?
I don't think the government will be needed to be brought into this. This sounds like a business deal between an organization of labels and ISPs. The smaller labels obviously will have less say in the proceedings than larger corporations, but that's to be expected.
There is no way that you can give all your money to the artist if that artist is on a label.
There is no distribution model that can help you there.
I guess you only listen to unsigned bands...?
The proper solution is for them to fix their system and, if necessary, sue the vendor for the costs.
But won't a hacker always find some sort of way to get around a security system?
Your solution is very idealist and to ask the MBTA to fix every problem that a hacker finds is asking alot.
Anyways, do you really want companies sueing contractors every time a hacker finds a bug in their system?
I know I don't want to keep fueling our bloated legal system.
I agree, just a couple people tinkering in their garages doesn't make a huge difference (even if it is cool), they need to get the word out about this. Maybe protesting isn't the best idea, but some sort of advertisment or word-of-mouth/viral campaign is needed.
Perfect... Let the government worry about courts, police, and military. The rest we'll do ourselves, thanks.
Perfect? Two people have made EVs in their spare time. That's not perfect in my book. I hate a big government as much as the next slashdotter, but we're not really taking care of this problem like we need to...
During driver's ed, the policeman attending told us that they are actually discouraged from turning on their lights when responding to a burglary.
Unless someone's life is explicitly in danger, they aren't coming out in full force.
There really is no fixing this. That is how party politics are. Not just here but anywhere. What we really need is to break the bi-partisan fixation of our government, i.e. let some other parties have a go.
What will the Japanese think of next
ads into games or videos for YouTube
Does this imply I'll have to watch video adverts on youtube?? I RTFA and didn't find anything to that effect.
I guess if I lived in number 4 Connecticut or number 5 Maryland, I'd want to know what was up!
I'm going out on a limb here, but my theory is that Maryland isn't as economically well off as the states that did make the list.
I do think media does have a responsibility to thread carefully
I agree, the media should always have good coding practice when dealing with threads. Locks are a necesity ;)

It doesn't have a sail. How does it go?
Someone tell me how stupid I am.
the first 3D, CG animated film they'll be releasing
I don't understand how Monsters vs. Aliens is the first 3D, CG animated film. Hasn't every CG animated film for the last decade been 3D?
I heard that in China there are no trademark laws, so companies can mimic competitor's designs down to the letter.

I remember when I was a kid I had a lego spaceship that had fiber optics on it.
They didn't do anything but they sure looked cool!
Wait, what were we talking about?

When I first saw this title, I thought it said "Photographers Face Ejaculation Over Lenses"
It's been a long day...

It's just a shame that these innovations are coming so late. Car makers should have had more foresight, and now we face the consequences.
So why don't you check out the 100+ cars being converted from hybrids to plugin electric hybrids
Regardless, it's still a fringe activity.
I think that this is a great thing and I might look into it myself, but more is going to need to be done.
Nicholas Cage has to discover the mystery of the penis-shaped aliens before time runs out!

If they really want to do something they're better off protesting.
Personally I have much more respect for the man that takes matters into his own hands, than the one who just yells and whines.

Nobody on slashdot has a girlfriend.
He might have gotten away with it, but he had to push it and claim she was asian too!
Some people don't know when to stop...
