    Plus, I doubt it'll actually be as fast as regular RAM anyway

    If I remember correctly, HP sayd it was an order of magnitude slower than ram, so it may be better for flash-like storage, i think....

    in a good way actually...
    here in italy no matter what a politician does, things always stay the same. you don't loose much votes...
    really, i admire your interest on the subject. it's not something you'd find here...

    anyway, I'd like to know how would you react if:
    -a politician tries (twice) to pass a law that would make him and others immune to arrest or anything.
    -a politician tries to pass a law with which newspaper can not talk in _any_ way of a trial.
    -a politician involved in a trial says the judge is subversive and communist.
    -a politician uses his influence to grant jobs in tv shows to other people

    can anyone answer me please? i'd like to know how other countries see us :(

    how do you know it's a lie? have you proven creationism to be a lie and not told anyone? while you're at it you might as well tell everyone how you proved evolution as fact while the rest of the world is still trying...

    well, it's actually kind of easy: since evolution it a theory, it has a chance of being truth, while ID is at maximum a belief, so chances of it being proven are nearly zero.

    oh, and again, when was the last time science had to _exactly_ prove/disprove anything?
    science it's a trial-and-error system...

    even wikipedia reports how and why the Cambrian Explosion was not really an "explosion"...

    Describe in detail how evolution made complex biological structures such as the human eye.

    oh, come on... this is just pointless... it took more than a few millions of years to come to humans, why are you so excited about our limited eyes? 'cause yeah, other animals have better eyes, ya 'know?

    Explain how evolutionary theory solves the problem that DNA cannot exist without protein and protein cannot exist without DNA.

    Only if the technologies aren't locked up and hidden away by patents.

    yeah, I remember when that guy invented airbags...
    he tried to sell the patent to everyone, but with one condition: he could sell it also to the other car-makers.
    Result? everyone waited 25 or so years, so the patent expired, and they could use it for free.

    yes, becouse everyone knows that all browsers fully supported xhtml the day after they finally released it.

    If we did things their way we'd have perfectly rendering web pages all the time, but the content they hosted would be so dull most consumers wouldn't be interested.
    I dont think you're really familiar with xhtml... why would adding something like flash make your page not-compliant?

    maan, you even got modded "interesting"!
    That's evident by the fact that not one of the major websites out there that I can think of (facebook, google, microsoft, and even the bbc to name a few) are fully W3C compliant uh... wikipedia?
    anyway, that's becouse the browsers had to get so dam good at understanding what the page-writer was thinking, that now you can't see differences.
    Add to this that barely anyone who clicks in gives a damn about this, and you have your answer.
    yeah, sure. becouse explorer, firefox, opera and everything else have always displayed web pages the same way. riiiight.proprietary stuff brought new nice things, but also lots of problems.

    Hey, this is not against the constitution.
    If you want to see something against the costitution you have to come here in Italy. We're just discussing 2 laws for that.

    One would make 5 people in our country _totally_ "immune" to the law, the other is against press: nothing of a trial can be published in newspaper, not even the subject of the trial, not even who is involved.

    Oh, and we're about to make telephone bugging (don't know how to translate, sry) illegal for almost everything...
    And, obviously, the recording can not be used in trials others than the one you're facing....
    So if they're bugging you for mafia, and you confess a homicide, you don't have to worry!

    I've seen some videos on youtube...
    it seems it takes about 2m.30secs to startup (not from standby, that is actually fast)

    was it an older, developer version or what?

    funny, the thing that keeps me from buying a nokia n810 is the lack of gsm/normal phone support, and the thing that keeps me from buying this is the lack of a real keyboard...

    well, since it has a usb host i supporse i can always plug in a little keyboard, but it will never be like the e70 :,(

    yeah. a good quote (don't remember who said it, sry), was something like:
    copyright laws are tolerated just because they don't get applied to everybody, everywhere and always.

    i think the same concept can be ported to laws, at the end...

    I mean... if auth is required, then this system is not needed. We already have id cards for that and much more.
    So I suppose this will be deployed (if ever) in public places and things like that... but then, you can not force anyone not to wear sunglasses!

    anyway, anyone knows if the touchscreen is just finger-style or can i use also a pencil-style pointer?

    Great method, ok, but i dubt it works for everyone.

    ok, we all have some corrosive sweat or alike in our skin, but that doesn't mean we all drop out the same amount of corrosive liquid.

    there are people who can not touch a motherboard 'cause it would end with a big mark on the metal, it could even lead to malfunction, this is well known in the industry... I guess they borrowed their idea from here...

    but how much of this corrosive is required for this method to work?
    also, saying "metal" is saying all and nothing... there are metals that corrode easily, others that don't...

    anyway, why are we going with keyboard on touchscreen? it's a pain if you compare it to the "normal button" ones...
    it's slower, makes you type more, and makes the screen dirty.
    nokia e70 had maybe one of the most complete keyboard...

    if we want bigger screens, why don't we go towards something like nokia n810? with slide-keyboard, i mean.... Personally, i don't like the design of this phone... it reminds me a blackberry, and the screen is not even that big...

    hell yeah.
    I recently read an article in a newspaper about noise in big cities.
    They basically just recorded how many db where in given places on the whole week, in different cities (open areas, not closed)...
    I just saw the graph of Milano (italian big city), and the lowest point is at 60db, while the average is 70db, peaks at 120+db.

    That's a lot of countinuous power....

    usually places like shopping malls, offices with hundred of doors have them opened all the time, and closed just when the shop/office is closed.
    so this will boil down to a few doors that are open/shout (the entrance ones), and even there lots of them are just always opened...

    I don't think you'd get enough energy fom there....

    right, human generated power is not really that much...

    but what if this is applied in highways, in high-traffic streets, etc?

    it would get energy from cars, but has anyone any calculations on that?
    and would the cars be like in a constant gradient? 'cause if this will be applied to cars, i think it will require a bigger system....
