The SpaceX Falcon 1 has not launched as of 4:08 p.m. EST. In fact, it's on hold for an hour. Somebody jumped the gun with the story. You can follow live coverage at SpaceFlight Now or Space.com
True. I should have said that that CLAIM is a myth. Nobody really knows if the iPod can handle OGG or not. The great-grandparent post was stating it as fact and I was pointing out that it's conjecture from a former competitor with potential bias.
With the nano being so thin, they probably couldn't stack the screen on top of the jack. So it was either move the jack to the bottom or move the screen down.
The rover has sensors that detect the tilt of the rover and will halt movement before it tips over. There's a whole section on NASA's website about navigation and the like.
The Pancam, the highest resolution cameras, have 1024x2048 pixel CCDs.
Something else. D&M holdings was formed from the merger of Denon Ltd. and Marantz Japan Inc. If you read the earliest press releases from the D&M Holdings website, you'll see where it came from.
It was noted in the press release: D&M Holdings will continue to support retailers and customers of its Rio brand through all final sale and post-sales activities, including customer service, repair, warranty and sales channel support. D&M Holdings is committed to continuing service levels without compromise.
I've read the notice and there's no preset amount of money set aside so if you don't make a claim, Apple doesn't have to pay up. Therefore, no excess settlement money to give to a charitable cause.
You're right though that not making a claim won't discourage the lawyers. The lawyers are paid no matter how many claims are filed.
The problem is that they're going after Google, not the sites that are trying to profit from copyrighted material...
Probably because it's easier to sue Google than it is the sites that are stealing images. Not to mention, Google has a lot more money than these other sites combined.
Probably because Steve doesn't want to be upstaged anybody. He will want to show off any new hardware. It would have been interesting if Steve had a presentation at IDF, but that's not likely to happen.
I'm sure that there a few of these processors running in Apple's labs.
Google filed a registration statement that it's going to sell 14,159,265 shares. It hasn't done so yet. So, no, it's not $4bn richer. It will be (perhaps), just not right now.
Writing Santorum unless you live in Pennsylvania isn't going to help. What would help is writing your own state Senators about your objection to the bill.
Santorum hearing from residents outside of Pennsylvania will not change his mind. I'm not even sure hearing from residents inside of Pennsylvania would.
You're correct that Mars Express photographed an ice lake in a crater. However, the Mars Express Orbitor is run by the European Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency, not the British. The British did have a lander attached to Mars Express named Beagle 2, which crashed.
Don't replicate that code sample! It's a virus!
The launch has been scrubbed until December to bring in more helium and liquid oxygen. See Spaceflight Now or Space.com

McMaster University was established in 1887. Perhaps you need to do some research before knocking the place.
Coincidence. The real reason for the trading halt is that the Supreme Court has denied RIM's emergency appeal of the NTP patent verdict.
Is what's clear to me and the pictures seem to indicate that only one mirror is currently installed?
According to Forbes, Steve is worth $3.3 billion. I think he can buy enough turtlenecks without having to sell more nanos. :-)

The "iPod doesn't have enough CPU to handle OGG" thing is a myth.
Asa already addressed most of his critique.
Because average Jane/Joe user has been drilled to think that she/he needs anti-virus protection. It's all marketing.

And think about if things were backwards:
New Tool to Track Vista Testing Time
While a usage reporting tool might be a nice idea, the kernel folks better think long and hard before it's added and enabled by default.

Actually, it's close to $3 million. $2,768,000 to be exact.

No, it should be WWW+RW. And then Firefox can be WWW±RW compatible! ;)
