    Satellite communications tends to shoot up a lot more directed radiation than reaches the satellites. Even as we move past Ka and into EHF, the more directed energy will suffer less from the inverse square law. That's a lot of energy being directed into space.

    Unfortunately clearly anti-competitive and manipulative activities like these will never be prosecuted properly. Drafting legislation that negatively affects your competition could be prosecuted under countless existing laws, even so far as insider trading if you made any financial adjustments in advance of the laws you wrote taking effect.

    With decent quality 43" sets in this kind of price range I'm not surprised. That's nearly disposable level, so a very nice quality one wont be too much more. My plasma 42" was $1300 about 7 years ago and am likely to replace it for a fraction of that price with a 4k early next year.

    No. You're not thinking here. The turning red would be great, so just go back in time and make it work that way. There's no way to get that update on all the phones that may explode this late in the game. You need a positive confirmation, not an unachievable negative confirmation.

  15. It belongs to the copyright holder, not to Apple or the customer, but it is DRM free and sits on my computer, as well as being mirrored on the Apple service. If Apple takes their end away, I will still have my DRM free copy.

  16. This doesn't make any sense. They fought to remove DRM long ago, and it hasn't come back. They also fight to keep communication fully encrypted. I get it that you're an anti-fanboi, but making things up isn't helpful to anyone.

    I agree. I'd be fine with it being a bit thicker, and that space used for airflow so it doesn't really add to weight. The MB Air exists for thin, Pro, well, should mean what it implies.

    I'd been running the 10 Beta for the last few months on a 5s and SE. It wasn't until the Gold release that they screwed something up for a few people.

    Well, you described it as a partisan battle, which I said it was, yes. But there was also fake (exaggerated) evidence placed back then in support of it. I don't think that is the case with most evidence since, and it is convincing, however it took people who were aware of it years to accept, and some just never did.

    I remember a decade and a half ago there were scandals where false Global Warming data had been spread around. It took me a long time to trust future evidence because I saw it as a partisan battle, rather than legitimate science. This sort of thing is always bad for everyone involved. Obviously they had 50 years of good profits, so they may disagree. My point is simply that any level of deceit in science can totally scare people away from a subject entirely, and even oppose the idea in the future, whether valid or not.

    This makes a lot of sense. As long as they initiate no manipulation on the ratings it should be considered neutral and not their problem. If they ever show themselves to have manipulated the ratings or reviews for anyone, they should lose that protection.
