I was wondering that myself, if I recall nintendo had "Rumble" back with their previous system as well, (ie. N64 with the little add in thingy) is it possible that Nintendo licensed it from them maybe?
Hmm... ok I'll give you that one, I connect through a jabber server run by one of my friends.
That's one of the best things about jabber... you can install your own server, AND talk to people on any other jabber server.
I was looking to see if anyone else was going to say that, my jabber connection with the AIM transport works fine, no idea what the author was thinking... when jabber's aim transport breaks it gets fixed quickly.
The idea that I've always heard about "breaking laws" is this, it is a law because it has not been able to be disproved. Maybe that is theories, I can't remember. and how exactly do things move from theory to law? it is possible that there is a flaw.
I have always looked at things like this, anything is possible. However it is not always probable.
two things, none of sony's Clies have come with any memory sticks since the S300 (the S360 is more or less the 3rd revision of that device). as for the addon's... my personal favorite is the yet to be released GPS (who knows if they will ever actualy release that thing)
I completely agree. My personal feelings twards this are that if linux PDAs are going to catch on then there needs to be a standard, simply put, they need to all use the same gui implimentation (such as Xfree), all use the same style of interface (QT for example). and some kind of common platform type (arm, etc) otherwise they loose one of the best features of the palms, the ability to beam a program from one pda to another.
Here Here!! that's what I'm working on... actualy I have to admit I'm working the other way around... I installed everything that "looked cool" way back when with the hopes that I'd actualy use it... now whenever I rup deselect update and see a package that I've never used has a new version I usualy un-install it because I know I'll never really get around to using it.
people love to spout "RTFM" well you know what I have, I've searched and searched all over to try and find explination of how to do this with no luck. Gnome was easy you just right click add a pannel, then edit the properties for it. In KDE, ok right click add child pannel.. oh wait now I can't get any properties for it, only for the parent one... I'm sorry if I have to edit the config files by hand then kde isn't doing what they set out to do.. usibility for the masses.. granted I'm not the typical part of the masses but if someone who has been testing out different enviroments since the day he started with linux (all those many years ago - 6 to be specific) can't find the features then it's hidden pretty well.
Ok I lied... it doesn't do what I want... you might have mis-understood me... that makes the panel there, I knew how to do that. but I don't what the panel to be the full length of the screen... just something little... for example
look here
Hmm... just got home and well I have 2.2.1 installed... guess I just missed that... well time to actualy give kde a fair chance since I can do that. Thanks
well I cheated... I decided to run it when gdm starts up. by doing that (edit the/etc/init.d/gdm I can send you mine if you'd like) you break some things like mpg123 which are simply fixed by doing mpg123 -o esd (I think)
There has to be a better solution, but I haven't tested other things yet... it's most likely a permissions problem...
I had this problem with things starting slowly and accidently stumbled on to my problem... for me it was everything wanted esd to be running but couldn't start it up. (since you mention apt-get I assume debian... mine is testing for refrence sake). let me know if this works for you, or if you would like some help trying to figure out why they start slowly.
You know what I want to see? didn't think so because I haven't said yet...
Ok in Gnome I can make extra pannels, and have them float (or various other behaviors), I want to be able to do that in KDE as well. Ok so maybe you can do that now, but if so I don't know how to and can't find any mention of it ANYWHERE!
I suppose I should explain why... I keep my main pannel on the right had side of the screen (next-step style) but down in the lower left hand corner I like to have a couple of applets running like network usage and (can't think of the name of it) the place where the iconified windows go (yea that thing).
What interestes me more is if there is any plans to port to any other OS in general? lets think about this for a second... They have an opensource mail client which does almost everything that outlook does (almost being that it cannot connect to MSexchange server through the propriatary MS way). If they ported it to other OS's including Mac OS X, and windows they might be able to steal some of Outlooks userbase. that and well bye bye email viruses...
Ok, the only reason I mention it is because they don't have it listed on their web page. as a matter of fact they only list PS/2 and serial, but hey if it works then good deal
Ok I'll admit it, it's pretty, however (there's always one of those huh), it says it requires a mouse (either PS/2 or serial). I have a mouse but oh wait I can't use it damn me for keeping up with hardware and having a USB mouse...
was that too sarcastic?

Iridium Saved?

Here's what I predict for the next iridium post (and MIR post too)...
"Iridium Scrapped to save MIR" since it seems like every couple of weeks we hear that one or the other will be scrapped/saved. I wanna see something crash into the ocean!
I was wondering that myself, if I recall nintendo had "Rumble" back with their previous system as well, (ie. N64 with the little add in thingy) is it possible that Nintendo licensed it from them maybe?
Just a thought.

ok, I'm rambling again...
I was looking to see if anyone else was going to say that, my jabber connection with the AIM transport works fine, no idea what the author was thinking... when jabber's aim transport breaks it gets fixed quickly.
those are my random 2 cents.
The idea that I've always heard about "breaking laws" is this, it is a law because it has not been able to be disproved. Maybe that is theories, I can't remember. and how exactly do things move from theory to law? it is possible that there is a flaw.

I knew it was released there, but that doesn't help me get my hands on it... although I can't really aford it, and I don't really need it...

But I digress...
Can someone explain to me why the link for "DNA" is a picture of Douglas Adams? am I missing something (or atleast forgetting something)?
Did anyone else notice that the two pictures link to the exact same thing?

I'm guessing that the homes are on fire because of the plane...
sorry couldn't resist.
