Back in the NES days, adults would actually play the console games. Maybe its just my experience, but that doesn't seem to be the case any more.

Rookie. Back in my day adults would play the Atari 2600 and the licensed Sears Telegames consoles. I used to kick my grandfather's ass at the Atari boxing. My mother used to keep getting devoured at Pac-Man.

I destroyed the enemy carrier over 10 years ago on my Mac Plus. I never wanted to put in the time to take over every island before.

I still love to break it out and play it once in a while.

I'd love to have the game as unaltered as possible, but have all of the polygons textured instead of flat shaded and a little network action. One more thing, I would like to see would be a garage to refit Walruses and Hangars to refit Mantas while they're on islands.

I remember the first time I had the idea to cut off the enemy carrier from its supply lines. I send 4 mantas island hopping. When I got to the enemy islands I took out all of the defenses using lasers and missiles. I would use their airstrips to refuel and take off for the next island. Eventually I got far enough to cut off the computer carrier and without access to Nemesis it couldn't produce supplies or fuel.

Hopefully Nintendo will have so much success with this console that others stop the business model of trying to milk their customer's dry.

What I'm getting at is that not only is it foolish and idealistic to put such restrictions on something but it's dangerously foolish and idealistic to do so.

Homebrew Developers are supposed to pay Microsoft for the priveledge of making new content for their system that will be given away for free but that Microsoft can claim when they list the number of titles available on their platform when they advertise to compete with the PS3?
