When a court makes a decision on the application of a law to an unclear situation, that becomes part of the case law, such that there is a consistent interpretation, rather than an ambiguous situation being interpreted randomly each time it occurs.
So, what you're saying is that this exploit is the Democrats' fault?
Anyone capable of pulling off a man in the middle attack could intercept the MD5 sum. Send the user a false one, return a valid MD5 to the server and go on as usual.
There 10 times as many high-end PC people out there that are about to upgrade their machines and may start to think. Hmmmm this new apple hardware might run windows, maybe I'll put off buying my next Dell-shitbox machine and see what apple rolls out.
Only the Apple faithful give half of a fuck about what Apple's going to be introducing down the road. The rest of the computing world doesn't really care. Some of us look at Apple to see what's going on. Apple has a history of blazing new trails that others follow(like 3.5" floppies, CD-ROM drives, Mice, built in networking, etc) so many people watch with curious interest, but for the most part only Mac people plan their Mac purchases around Apple's release schedule.
for me, as I've gotten older I've gotten MUCH more attention from the ladies.
When I was 16, couldn't get a single date. Now that I'm in my late 20s, I have to turn women away.
Nerdiness is in!
Although I suspect that is also has a lot to do with the following. I'm black, and as politically incorrect as it may be to say; there aren't many attractive black men my age who do not have criminal records or a bunch of kids. When women get to the age where they're thinking about having a family, smart men who obey the law become a lot more desireable.
Yes, all true, but there are things that take points away like living in Mom's basement, having pasty white skin, and living off of caffeine and doritos.
I have several words. None of them are english words and some are in a language that I created myself. I mix those words with certain number patterns that mean nothing to anyone other than myself.
The only problem is if I forget with word/number combination I used with a particular site and there is a low limit for wrong guesses.
You went to an Intel/Windows platform because of how they decided to connect keyboards together that left them in a very proprietary way with limited third party support for keyboards, mice, etc?
I went to x86 and Windows as my primary platform because if I was going to be forced to buy all new peripherals, I wasn't going to give Jobs' Apple another chance to fuck over my wallet. There are 20 year old IBM keyboards that people can still plug into new PCs today.
That was simply the last straw for me. Jobs changed many things that caused me to not like Apple as much. First the killing off of Copland. Then the end of price-protection for Apple dealers. Changes to the AppleCare extended warranties. And finally the elimination of SCSI, ADB and Serial.
Did the Mac stop being a Mac when those technologies were replaced with other, better technologies or dropped altogether?
No, but I and many others like me stopped buying Apple when they dropped good technology for no good reason.(Specifically ADB, serial and onboard SCSI)
Apple WILL lose a lot of PPC fanboys over this. It remains to be seen how many new converts they'll gain. Perhaps Apple will gain more than it loses.
For the past 10 years, Apple has been making much of how much faster the PPC is compared to Intel's offerings.
Even though I haven't bought a new Mac in 7 years, I still think that the PPC is fantastic. It was Apple's greatest advantage.
I was wrong about Apple switching to Intel chips, and maybe I'm wrong about how this will end up; but I think that Apple just jumped the shark.
Either that, or that Jobs has made a mistake in going to Intel.
For the Mac Zealots, that's impossible. You'll see people talking about how the PPC was the right decision at the time(10 years ago) and that dropping it is now the right decision.
Products like PearPC emulate a PPC Mac on X86 hardware, it shouldn't be too hard for someone to hack up an abstraction layer to emulate OpenFirmware calls if that's what's necessary.
Sony's greed is the number one reason why most of the world used VHS instead of Beta. JVC was smart about it and decided to share their technology and made a killing by increasing the market.
who is suing smith and wessen for their making guns that are used to kill
No one, they struck a deal with the Clinton Justice Department to prevent themselves from being sued. Also, can you name any machine guns produced by Smith & Wesson?
He was talking about one of the school shootings, I think it was columbine. He went on to say how Doom conditioned the shooters to be ready to kill other people. I rebutted that there are only Demons and Zombies in Doom and that's what you shoot.
His response was that they modified Doom so that the demons and zombies looked like some of their classmates.
My response was that if they were playing a modified game, then you can't blame iD software because it's no longer the product that they released.
His response was that they used tools created and provided by iD to modify the game and that the only use for such tools was to insert images of human beings into the game for use as targets.
My response was that he can't draw such conclusions about iDs motives. The tools could just as easily be used to change a red monster into a blue one, or to insert a monster from a movie.
He returned to the his argument that they used iD's tool to modify Doom so that they could shoot things that looked like their classmates.
Before Mike had to go to commercial I reminded him that they were playing a modified game that was NOT produced by iD.
He stammered for a few moments and Mike thanked me for my call and went to commercial.
A couple of years ago, when he was on Mike Reagan's radio program, I called in and ate his lunch on the air. His arguments consist of a series of one-liners. If he's giving a speech, it doesn't sound half bad. If his arguments are challenged, he can't support them.
He's a media whore, he's in it for the money; nothing more.
Whenever you see him on TV, whenever you hear him on the radio, whenever he's making a public appearance confront him. Expose him for what he is.

I first ran Windows on a Mac about 8 years ago. Insignia Solutions produced SoftWindows a long time ago.

The good thing is that webmail services seem to keep popping up. If your employer doesn't know to block one, you're in the clear.
That is unless your company's policy forbids access to all except approved sites.

Apple probably won't die because of this.
The cult of Steve Jobs has enough followers to keep the company afloat for another decade.
