    I can't tell you how many times I've wished for a place where the meals were prepared for me, could play video games, and not have any responsibilities to worry about (like work).

    In prison, you have to constantly be concerned with the security and sanctity of your anus.

    Prison may not be the homosexual rape fest that some people make it out to be, but even 1 rape per 10000 inmates is higher odds that I'm comfortable with.

    The more prisons offer to the inmates, the more inclined people are to WANT to go there. Even if they commit a lesser crime for the shorter sentence, it might end up being a choice vacation spot.

    I guess your crack dealer must be on the outside.

    Basically you need to research what you are installing on your machine. That means using google, word of mouth, and your own deep digging before you put any ?cleaning? program on your machine.

    I totally agree, last night I decided to google for a free disk defragmenter. I found DIRMS.

    In addition to defragmenting my drive more thoroughly than the defrag built into XP does, it also reduces interstitial space and can reclaim usable space on your drive. I have a 120 GB hdd and it recovered 1.5 GB of interstitial space.

    Had I just stuck to "reviews" published in magazines and other industry sources I would have never found out about a really sweet defrag program.

    Regardless of the subject; Spyware, Defrag, Gas mileage, whatever, you're much better off to do your own research and listen to what users like you have to say about it.

    You are precisely right.

    They would do quite well on ebay. The sheer volume of additional bidders would increase revenue. People from all over the world would be able to bid on the items for a week, not just the few hundred who can make it to NYC for one day next week.

    Hopefully one day we will see ebay handling bankruptcy liquidations. It would be a boon to us as buyers and it would generate more revenue for creditors thereby making interest rate hikes less necessary.

    I specifically said "downtown", meaning between offices and county buildings. The "professional" district if you will. People used to smoke weed there, no one smokes crack there.

    Name me 2 things wrong with getting high besides its illegal.

    It was adults who used to smoke in public. They had their own homes to smoke in back then, but they didn't have to keep in under wraps.

    We send drug dealers and drug buyers to jail, we should treat spam the same way.

    We should punish the idiots that buy things advertised in Spam.

    One could argue that the "war on drugs" is a failure, and for the most part they'd be right, but I was a kid in the mid to late 1970s and the culture has changed dramatically with regard to drugs. People used to smoke weed on downtown street corners, it certainly isn't that way anymore.

    Take away the incentive to send the spam out and fewer people will risk it.

    My dnet keyrate used to kick ass when I worked at a computer store.

    I had something like 10 PCs and Mac all running the dnet client and pumping up my keyrate.

    But that was like 5 years go, my keyrate is a bit lower now, but the 2 machines that I'm running it on now are a lot faster.

    How about a national database for tracking when everyone uses the restroom. We could put little sensors on all toilets to track how often they're flushed!

    Environmental concerns have already forced us to use "low flow" toilets. So keep that idea quiet or some eco whacko will suggest it as a way to discourage people from wasting water.

    If you did this with the intention of misleading someone that you had signed the document, you might be guilty of some kind of fraud.

    I was presented with a non-compete that was more restrictive than I was comfortable with. Rather than pass up on the needed employment, I decided to "Won't Agree" the non-compete section.

    They wanted me to agree not to work for any competitor within 50 miles or any client for two years after my employment with them ended.

    I can understand a company wanted to keep its employees from selling out to big clients by undercutting them. I can't and won't accept shackles that prevent you from going to a competitor to make more money.

    I'm from the Pittsburgh area, EVERYTHING is within 50 miles. I was supposed to agree to work for McDonalds for two years if my employment didn't work out? I don't think so.

    I don't know about anyone else, but I work to make money. If another company offers more compensation , better working conditions, or better benefits I will consider leaving. Is it any different for you?

    The results that we have today are not coming from embryonic stem cells. No matter how many times you talk about promise and flexability, the fact is that other sources are yielding results TODAY.

    The problem is that Humans are great at picking out patterns. This ability served us well when trying to plan a harvest, or follow a mammoth migration, but it can also cause us to see connections where none exist. All religion started as superstition.

    You are arguing against a point that I never made.

    Have I, at any time in this discussion, brought up religion or the soul? No I have not.

    It wouldn't be a foregone conclusion by any stretch, but I think that at the end of the day common sense would win out.

    "Your honor, I clearly wrote 'Won't Agree' on the signature line. I never agreed to that provision. They chose to let me work for them and pay me even though I didn't agree to their initial terms."

    Once you accept public money, you can no longer claim that your research is a private matter. It's as simple as that.

    Well, what about the invasion of Iraq that killed thousands and thousands of civilians for no reason? Many people objected to that on "moral" grounds, but we still funded it with public money, and it sure wasn't for defense.

    And every one of them had a chance to vote their conscience. I know that I did.

    If they can be used to destroy human lives, why can't public funds be used to help preserve and better life by using a line of embroyonic stem cells from an IVF batch that will NEVER have a possibility of becoming human?

    23 pairs of human chromosomes means that they are ALREADY human.

    Moreover, this story shows that stem cells from other sources are yeilding results TODAY, not in some magical future that may or may not ever come.

    I believe that so-called "signature" doesn't need to be a written rederring of your legal name. You can write "foobar", and it could still be a legally bind agreement. It just needs to be "marked" by you.

    It would be amusing to watch someone go into court and argue that someone should be bound by an agreement that they wrote "Won't Agree" on.

    Because the company I work for owns everything I think and do, according to my employment agreement. Nothing is considered "side-work."

    I've had similar contracts presented to me as conditions of employment. My first name begins with a "W", as does the word "Won't". On the signature line I write "Won't Agree", When people see that big cursive "W", they don't check to see what the rest of the line says.

    I've never needed to take advantage of this practice, but I like having the option.

    All of my SO's friends and relatives know that I'm into IT. So whenever one of them has a problem, they come to me. If it is something that will take more than an hour, I charge them.

    When a local computer shop tells them $95/hr with a one hour MINIMUM, paying me $60 sounds a lot more reasonable.

    For $60 they get a free antivirus program (Avast or AVG), Ad Aware, Spybot S & D, a scandisking, a defrag, updated drivers for all of their hardware, up to date patches for their games, and whatever else they "need" to get their computer running smoothly again.

    It's an equitable solution, everyone wins.

    The first glaring problem with your post is that twice you used the term "ordinance" when referring to explosives and munitions. Not once did you make mention of "ordnance", so that is telling.

    Do you know what an "Ordinance" is?

    Here's the definition.

    • 2. A custom or practice established by long usage.
      3. A Christian rite, especially the Eucharist.
      4. A statute or regulation, especially one enacted by a city government.

    Even giving you the benefit of the doubt, because the summary of TFA calls it "Ordinance Disposal", I still smell bullshit.
