    How has it affected me?

    Not in any way that I'm aware of, but I guess that's the point of many of its provisions.

    How has it affected my vote?

    Not at all. I think the USA PATRIOT Act was a bad piece of legislation. It was a knee jerk law that want too far, but my vote is unchanged.

    I voted for the candidate that I would have even if 9/11 and the related aftereffects had never taken place.

    At computer shows I used to see those with advertised as like "1500 games" basically they'd run like 20 different variants of Super Mario Brothers and 20 different varients of Duck Hunt, so on and so on until they hit their number. I should have bought one when they were still available.

    I don't care if it's illegal, all the better. I'm boycotting Nintendo anyway.

    You do alot more than piss off the non-smokers, you kill them.

    I don't have a problem with being a courteous smoker, but at the same time non-smokers are getting unreasonable. I don't violate non-smoking areas. If I'm at a non-smoker's house, I'll go outside to smoke. I do my best to make sure that I stay downwind of non-smokers when I smoke outside. Anti-tobacco militants have gone off the deep end.

    For example, passing laws that make it illegal to smoke in a bar. IN A BAR FOR GOD'S SAKE!!!! Next they'll be trying to make it illegal to drink alcohol in a bar. Smoking and drinking is what people go to the bar to do.

    Have you ever tried to have a reasoned debate with a creationist? It doesnt work. Their entire belief structure is based on rhetoric, falsehoods, and a book written two thousand years ago, that has gone through several revisions by whoever was in power at the time.

    I call bullshit.

    You assume that all creationists are Christians. What about the muslims who believe that God created the universe? Their book is less than two thousand years old and is still in the original Arabic.

    What do you say to them?

    No. It would be too little too late. I stopped buying new Apple Equipment in 1997. I became a PC gamer that year and I haven't looked back.

    Yes. The water-antifreeze mixture does have a higher boiling point than plain old water. It's called "antifreeze" because it doesn't readily freeze at the temperatures we encounter here on earth.

    I really appreciate that he still used a glycol/water mixture. Pretty unnecessary, but certainly a nice touch.

    Not at all. There are water conditioners in antifreeze to prevent the formation of scale.

    Regular tap water or even distilled water can cause a radiator to develop deposits when the metal inside oxidizes.

    Since there is no heater core to worry about, the total volume of liquid needed would be smaller. I'd consider using pure antifreeze.

    Also, Slackware is a good base for tweaking your own distro, because it is so pleasant to configure :)

    With Slackware, tweaking isn't just a nice option, it's a must.

    I have installed Slackware 7.1 and 9.(something), both of which required heavy configuring afterwards before it would work the way I wanted it to.

    I really hope that this leads to more computer reuse by geeks and maybe eventually nongeeks.

    I think we have been doing just fine with old hardware. It's the mundanes who have no use for a 3 year old computer.

    Does he actually want to defeat Bush, or does he know that Bush's approval ratings go up whenever he(Bin Ladin) makes a threat, and so he actually wants Bush elected?

    Either way, he'll use it to his advantage.

    If Bush loses, he'll claim that he defeated Bush by breaking the confidence that the American people placed in him, and use that to recruit more terrorists.

    If Bush wins, he'll use him to recruit more terrorists.

    I am a pagan, the woman I married is a Catholic. We couldn't have a religious wedding. We had a civil wedding. Yet we were married.

    If by "out of context" you mean "intended for different audiences", you're right.

    He has taken both sides on numerous issues. He's running like it's 1980. He isn't thinking about the fact that there are numerous 24/7 news outlets and anything you say in public will be remembered if and when you say something contradictory.

    If you think I find Bush to be perfect, you're mistaken. He's just not as bad as Kerry.

    Even so, I'm not voting on the Iraq war or foreign policy. I am voting because of the domestic issues that are important to me.

    "The Legend of Zelda...: is the basis of their IP.

    It would be like them trying to bully people into not using the name "Jim" because you own the copyright to "Earthworm Jim".

    They *might* have a leg to stand on when it comes to Metroid. But there is no fucking way they can force someone to stop using a normal first name on their site.
