I'm so glad that you mentioned AVP. It is a perfect example of what is wrong with the PG-13 centric model of movie making.

Remember the previous Alien and Predator movies? There was blood all over the place. There were even a few shots of naked boobies. And the comedic relief of the "You are one ugly motherfucker" line is missing.

I could understand a new franchise going for the PG-13 market. But established franchises like Alien, Predator, Friday the 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street should stick to their roots. It's going to be people in their mid 20s through late 30s who are going to see these films anyway. 13 year olds are like "Freddy who?" and "Wait a minute, the Predators are aliens too, right?"

Freddy Vs. Jason went for the R rating and made for a more enjoyable film IMHO.

AVP went for the PG-13 and wasn't as good as it could have been.

I'm not a hardware pro, but is this basically the same as having two seperate chips, or am I missing the point here?

Pretty much the same thing as having two processors, but once things are running at proper capacity, it will be cheaper to put two cores on one chip. In part because you won't have to reproduce the underlying electronics. The motherboards will also be cheaper. One socket means less money spent on R&D. If and when someone releases a dual socket/quad core motherboard it will be cheaper to design and build than a quad socket board.

The problem is that kids don't have the same amount of life experience. Sure, it stands to reason to most of us here that it would be a bad idea to take a picture of your boner with a camera phone and send it to a couple of girls that you know. I did a lot of dumb shit when I was 14. I wasn't dumb enough to send naked pictures of myself to anyone, but people still laugh at a couple of the idiotic things that I did 15 years ago.

This life experience causes me to be even more careful about the dumb shit that I consider doing today.

RDX has been used as an explosive since the 1920s. It's some powerful stuff.

Remember Saving Private Ryan? Remember the "sticky bombs"? That was Composition A. You can blow the treads off of a tank with a sock full of the stuff. Imagine what a boatload of it will do.

We're not talking small quantities of these explosives either, we're talking about a military transport ship.
