in MD they don't need anything to do it. It's treated the same as an officer following you and staking you out, which is perfectly legal to do without a warrant or court order. Since there's no search, they don't even need probable cause. It's a magnetized box they slap underneath your car. It doesn't require any further installation.
#1, if your kid has an arrhythmia, and they find it this way, they did you a favor. Undetected, your kid will simply drop dead one day from physical exertion. Personally, I'd rather know about it before the death occurs and seek treatment.
#2, they aren't using the HR monitors to make sure your kid isn't going to die, or look for problems. They are teaching them cardio training, and how your body responds to it. They may even be giving them VO2 max tests so they can show the kids how to maximize their workouts to burn fat, carbs etc as efficiently as possible. This can get results 4x faster than exercising blindly. See if you keep your heart rate in the fat burning max range, you burn fat instead of just carbs. This helps you get healthy faster.
Buy the damned HR monitor. Your kid will thank you for it later. It sounds like their PE instructor knows what they are doing. Let your kid learn from someone who knows what they are doing. This is a Good Thing(tm). It also helps kids stay interested since an HR monitor gives them feedback. I don't know about you, but having this feedback while I'm exercising is pretty damned cool, in addition to enabling me to workout smart instead of blind.
It's good to see immediate benefits to your efforts. Watching your heart rate get slower while doing the same thing you were doing last week is concrete evidence that you are getting fit.
IANAL, but have studied how record companies and recording contracts generally work. Yes, the only thing Sony would have to pay him is royalties on the copies they sold. When you sign a recording contract, you are signing over the publishing rights to anything you record while under contract, whether or not it gets published. The record company owns the recorded work as well as the right to publish the song as long as Sony filed the copyright, which they probably did, even on the stuff they didn't release.
They'd still have to pay him, but he couldn't release that material himself, unless it was a live album. Even then the artist would have to pay Sony a percentage.
Of course in Mexico, it might work differently. It works however the Federales say it does;-)
ATT's network has sucked since day 1 of the iPhone and before. There weren't 9 million iPhones back then. I was there with an LG phone on 3G. 3G has never been usable to stream video. I never even bother. I only stream video and download apps on WiFi. It won't even let you download apps bigger than a few MB on 3G. 98% of the time I have 3G turned off because it drains the battery too fast. Whoever wrote that article is smoking crack. I use 3G for looking up a fact, or google maps, and I use google maps about once per week, if that. 3G is usable for that.
If you ask me, 3G is getting crushed by other phones that don't have WiFi, like the Vu with ATT's TV service. Every now and then I look up stuff on the internet and turn on 3g but simple web browsing isn't going to crush their network. It's never been usable for anything that's heavily data intensive to begin with.
Given the environment that mobile devices are in (outside, cars etc) they should all be water resistant and heat resistant to at least 180 degrees.
The only logical conclusion you can make is that they are poorly designed for the environment people use them in. Leaving your iPhone in your car should not cause it to explode. Getting caught in the rain shouldn't wreck your device either.
I've seen adults with the same problem. I think you mean "People" from planet oblivious. I ride my bike in the park for exercise. I had one guy that was walking toward me, facing me turn right into my bike. Then there are the crowds that take up the entire 12 foot wide path walking side by side towards you, and can't give you 2 feet to get by. Then at the last second they are surprised and jump out of the way.
Based on personal experience, at least 30% of people are dangerously oblivious.
Sorry but I pay taxes, I'm entitled to 2 feet of path out of 12, especially when there's a perfectly good walking path right next to the bike path.
They come in all shapes and sizes and most of these people aren't playing a DS while being oblivious. I wish the world was a little crueler. They'd be dead by now due to natural selection instead of being in our way and maybe the oblivious gene would die out. It's funny but the inconsiderate and oblivious genes seem to be in the same set of people. Maybe they are related.
That's pretty much why I waited for the 32GB 3G[S] before I got an iPhone. The old ones sucked and had lousy storage space. I could get a free phone (used to have a Vu, which my mom inherited) that did just about what they did with a 4GB add in memory card. 32GB and video mail is hard to beat tho:-p. That and the dual core gpu did it for me. The gaming is ridonculous for a portable device.
It's really a mini mac with a phone radio added, rather than simply a phone. It's a bad ass device.
I saw the price and just downloaded redsn0w LOL. xGPS it is! It took all of 15 minutes to get redsn0w, xGPS, OpenSSH running. Now I can also ssh into my phone, which is oddly satisfying in and of itself.
With google maps you need to take your eyes off the road while driving to get your next turn. Tom Tom and xGPS read you the directions aloud, so you don't need to become a hazard for other drivers, you know, like an automotive GPS is supposed to.
Using google maps while driving (at least without a capable co-pilot) is roughly as dangerous as texting while driving IMHO.
> Both parties spend spend spend, and have done so with reckless abandon since WWII. Holy shit, someone on/. is making sense!
>This is the check book republic. I prefer to call it the USSA. United Socialist States of America.
Republicrats are killing (have killed?) this country... This is a breath of fresh air coming from someone other than myself. The current strangulation of our economy was a bipartisan effort and took the work of a republican president to think of it and a democrat to get it pushed through congress with a bipartisan house and senate to make it happen, with Barney Frank quarterbacking it and an illegal war started by a republican with the intelligence of a monkey thrown in for good measure.
The jackass and the elephant need to go the way of the dinosaur before anything will ever change. Washington DC needs an enema. I can't believe I still hear pseudo intellectual people blaming it on one party or the other. Even they should know better. It's one damned party with two heads, so you feel like you have choice. I hear people spewing koolaid from one "side" or the other and it makes me want to vomit.
The information about it is out there; _read_ something other than partisan propaganda for once, stop listening to Hannity, forget CNN, and stop watching Fox.
You want to fix the country? STOP VOTING FOR THE SAME LIVING PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN BREAKING IT FOR THE LAST 20-30 YEARS (or longer) AND THE SAME "2 PARTIES" THAT HAVE BEEN BREAKING IT SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION.
Most people are republicrats, and won't, so our democracy has already failed.
I immediately lose all respect for anyone who doesn't have the balls to think for themselves.

Bullshit. This is propaganda perpetrated by republicrats to maintain their current stranglehold on my balls.
The flat and fair tax assures that everyone pays their taxes, including illegal immigrants, tax cheaters and people paid under the table who currently pay _nothing_.
If people saved their money instead of blowing it on partying and useless crap, this would be a good thing. Over-consumption is what got us here in the first place.
I get taxed for welfare, food stamps, social security, and funding state universities here in MD
I've never collected welfare or used a food stamp. Social Security will be broke by the time I retire and I went to a state university, in another state, and paid double what residents did for my tuition.
Taxing people for stuff they'll never use is the United Socialist States of America way.
Why should foreigners get a tax break? They don't even live here long. If anything they should be taxed even more heavily for getting the use of roads and other infrastructure we've been paying for, for our entire lives.

By definition 3b, DDT, PCBs and hundreds of other toxic chemicals are organic.
I've had 4 UTI's personally, and have never been rejected for health care. I guess that's an example of how unfair "the system" can be.

This just made my morning. Microsoft hasn't ever perfected anything.

No. The iPhone plan has a 6GB limit.
That was a fun game...
Nope 6510 assembler.

I have a big fat pile of amazon reciepts and mp3's with embedded serial numbers that disagree with their opinion.
It up to the individual. Jailbreak it and you can install what you want including GV.
It's kind of absurd to say that iPhone owners don't have a choice... Cydia gives you that choice.
In an appropriately secured network, it doesn't matter.
Of course, in this case, the users might not like what "appropriately secured" means a few years from now :-p

I'm still on XP-32 lol. I've pre-ordered windows 7, namely because of 64 bit support, DX 10, better gaming support and a better default install.
I have to upgrade sometime and by all accounts, this release will be decent.

There are even cheaper solutions involving jailbreaking and Cydia that are actually legal (xGPS).
If we harvest and send back resources on a massive scale, we'll change the mass of the earth, therefore it's orbit. Not a great idea...
