  1. really, now.... on Farscape Fans Produce Commercial · · Score: 3, Insightful

In many of those cities, the ad may air only once, and it may be in the middle of the night on an undisclosed channel.

would it take that much extra work for them to specify which channel, or at least which network it's an affiliate of? i'm a little skeptical of the claim that "it doesn't matter what channel", since the mainstream media isn't exactly going to rush out headline stories about this unless people see it.

that's probably because submarines would be incredibly difficult to implement within this system. i mean, you have to know where your ship is in order to control it, right?

well, i have paid for the blizzard games i play, and i expect i will continue to do so as long as they keep consistently making some of the most entertaining games out there. i may think that blizzard isn't handling the bnetd controversy in the best way, but i blame that on their corporate masters, who i'm probably supporting in some way or another regardless of whether i buy war3 or not. so if i'm supporting them by buying cds, or pissing in their urinals, or whatever other pie the conglomerate has it's fingers in, why not get a gaming experience out of it?

seriously, if they're that good, why don't they just hack into the FBI computer systems and invent a nice little file on him? why bother ruining his life by taking away his livelihood when they could just as easily be ruining it by sending him to jail for 20 years?

  6. hey now... on Star Wars Prequels' Art Director Doug Chiang Talks · · Score: 1

daffy duck and bugs bunny are far from mindless slapstick. in fact, your examples of other types of humor (irony, wordplay) would be better descriptions. sure, there's an element of slapstick, but there's so many other levels it's working on.

in terms of setting yourself out from the crowd, at least in graphic design terms, there is no substitute for having classical training in the visual arts. too many people think that they're hot stuff just because they can use photoshop.
