He said people rarely discipline their kids and your assumption was beating them. I discipline my kids in several ways that don't require physical, mental, or any other kind of abuse.
Wouldn't you only have to defend it in the same industry the trademark is registered in? Unless Apple has a registered trademark in the food service industry (or whatever it's classified as) I can't see how the would risk loosing their trademark. By this logic they need to sue AppleBees as well.
Spending lots of time learning a new platform or programming something fun isn't exactly a tragic loss in my book. Yeah, if you just sit there an think about how no one uses the app you think is cool and worked hard on it can be a little depressing. Trying to find something positive in a bad situation can make life a lot happy and easier for you.
I recently started a fan page for WoWs new expansion pack and I'm building a new community around it. I hadn't used facebook previously to this, but figured it was a good way to build a user base before I actually got the site launched. I'd recommend you doing the same thing for your iOS app. They seem to be a little more liberal in regards to posting your sites link to the fan page.
I think what he was getting at is Amazon is a retailer (not a publisher) with an open market place that allows any author to be their own publisher. Meaning there's no need for an agent and publisher to bring books to the retailer and receive a wide audience of buyers.
Yes, what I was getting at was "Not a single message I sent was bounced". Implying rDNS isn't import for delivery of email. However, the ISP he was using to send with will bounce emails if the sender doesn't have valid rDNS setup. So it is important for delivery.
Some other servers that will bounce for invalid rDNS Yahoo and AOL.
I run a small software company with 3 programmers on staff (my self included) and I use version control. There's no excuse to not use and I'd be scared of any place that didn't. Hell, I used it when it was just me and I was hoping to be able to hire other people someday.
That won't stop people from crying, because they had to take 5 minutes out of their day to scan something. They'll also bitch about not having a scanner, digital camera, cell phone with a camera, or knowing anyone with any of those things to prove it.
There's only 1 mandelbr0t so of course we'll need more H1B candidates.

Zabbix is pretty darn cool. If I needed a job I'd apply :).
Yes, Windows sucks, but it's necessary to run the software my customers use, so there is no alternative.
VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET! Refuse to use that software and stand strong! /s
I guess I miss read either his post or yours. I was saying that discipline doesn't automatically equal abuse.

I'm guessing that was what they were talking about.
Digg quit being a tech site years ago.

For the vast majority of people that is sadly impossible.
He used the word "because"! KILL HIM WITH FIRE!

Funny you mention comcast, because they do reject mail if it doesn't have proper rdns setup.
Yahoo uses spamhaus

Your thoughts intrigue and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
I wish Indian support could speak English without revealing their native accent.
They would be stupid to kill off Yahoo! Mail. It's one of their best properties and probably one of the few that make money.

Very true, neither us really know. If was just greed then I agree with you.
Hello bank? I'd like to pay my loan with quality of service and stable patrons. What, you only accept money?!
Almost everyone will tell you a successful business is one that makes money.
