I'm not one of the morons I see at the airport standing on the left side of the moving sidewalk.
If they are at an airport, perhaps they've come from a country like Australia where we drive on the left side of the road and subsequently stand on the left side of escalators and overtake on the right.
Ms office compatibility is important to a lot of people. Google docs is better in this regard than abiword I believe but I haven't used either in a long time.
I'm on 3 in Australia and got my Nexus One yesterday. Loving it - just gotta make sure you disable data while roaming (which is an option luckily) because 3 are evil bastards and charge you 50c/mb while roaming which just happens often due to 3 being crap.
I haven't RTFA but maybe this update will improve the 3g....
I think it'd be cool if everyone connected their houses together using their existing standard networking equipment (wireless or otherwise). Every house would be a router. You'd only need normal ISPs for connecting one town to the next. Might be a bit slow though.
Sure, but put simply, he's just saying that there is no such thing as randomness and that with absolute knowledge of all the variables, one could predict with certainty the exact state of any object at any given period of time from now in a similar way to how you could crudely work out how long it's going to take a ball to hit the ground when dropped from a certain height with basic high school Newtonian physics.
That relies on there being no randomness in the universe of course...
Just tried the android app on my N1 while bored at work. Very nice.
The javascript version didn't very well for me (Chrome 5.0.375.99, Windows)

The government should pay. I'd happily pay slightly more tax for the service.
Or the ability to resize a window without just seeing it's border unless you can put up with it lagging and stuttering.
Did you type that using Swype?
Come on though, there's a difference between Google's own SERPs and 3rd party iPhone apps.
Well they did invent the graphical user interface, the mp3 player and the smartphone.. oh and they just invented multitasking.
You're clearly not a programmer.
I am - I make my living programming and yet I am against software patents.
I'm so used to loading slashdot and reading bad news. It's a breath of fresh air to read something like this. Good job everyone from New Zealand.
Hope some of that common sense washes over to Aussie shores
Cool, I'll try that out. And if you see a guy playing with a black Dell laptop and a Nexus One on the tram in the morning, say hi.
Mine too. Good to hear there are so many /.ers in my local area.
I'm sure he's trying, it just hasn't finished downloading yet.
Company does something wrong.
Company apologizes.
Accuser accepts apology.
Slow news day?
Any competent opposition could make it into a very major issue.
*sigh*..
Sounds like they have similar goals to the Australian Pirate Party. (also worth joining)
If you'll buy me a house and pay for my flights I'll pack my bags tonight.
Because it doesn't respect your rights as a computer user to view and modify the software running on your own machine.
While we wait for that, you can have fun with Duke Nukem Forever AI that I'm working on.
Do elaborate.

Isn't it illegal in a lot of places to encrypt your own voice?
Does this mean I can consume as much alcohol as I like now and let my doctor in the future grow back my brain cells?
I'll drink to that.
