    Apparently, so is checking the lug nuts. I've actually seen a wheel fall off a semi on I-55, southwest of Chicago. One of the scarier experiences of my driving career, as the wheel sailed across the lane in front of me, into a divider, and back across the highway again.

    Wrong, OSX is not BSD derived, per se. It is a Mach microkernel that presents a BSD API, which in turn, allows BSD userland code to be used with it. The BSD kernel, is directly decended from the original UNIX kernel. Structurally, Linux is closer to UNIX than OSX is.

    I can say quite clearly, had there been any behavior of this kind at the H.O.P.E. conference, we would have been all over the perpetrator in a flash. Now then, if something happened, and the staff at the conference was not brought into the loop, there is not much that we could do. Contrary to popular belief, the staff does not see everything. Hell, we were more than busy enough with the stuff we could see.

    If you are a victim of this type of behavior, talk to the conference staff. They want to make sure this type of behavior does not occur, maybe even more than you do.

    The whole SSC project was amazingly corrupt. It was fortunate it was cancelled when it was, otherwise it would have completely ruined the reputations of all involved, although many would have deserved it. Sadly, no one ever dug deep and exposed what a fiasco it was.
