    I have to disagree. How many people went to the restaurant with the expectation that they would be getting X for Y, and instead got X for 1.36 x Y? With the addition of a moderate punitive damage, $3260 doesn't sound unreasonable.

    I would not consider NCR a child of AT&T. AT&T bought it and later sold it off. Ameritech became part of SBC, not Verizon.

    Actually, it might help competition. SBC/ATT would compete on far more products with the other ILEC's, than they do currently. The results could be interesting.

    Bzzzt! Wrong, please play again. The term was in use well before there was a games industry. The best explanation I have heard for the term is that it is derived from gold casting craft. You wouldn't waste any gold until the casting mold was "perfect".

    Good point, but, how much of Apple's revenue stream could you honestly attribute to FreeBSD? An interesting question. How much revenue can be attributed to the GNU stream? //hint: an aspiring economics student could really make a name for themselves exploring this.

    Modern electronics have millions, if not billions, of active components to get the job done. Not that long ago, some of these jobs were done with two or three dozen active components. Pretty amazing, if you asked me.

    NOx + Water = Acid ( eg. Nitric Acid )

    Acid rain is causing a great deal of damage in various portions of the world. Acid rain also results in releasing huge amounts of CO2 into the environment by freeing it from carbonates.

    I would say that they are worth worying about.
