Are you seriously suggesting that invading the sanctity of the body is in the same category as taking a close-up picture of their eyes?

  2. So what exactly is the problem with this? on Schools Scanned Students' Irises Without Permission · · Score: 1

Unlike RFID, iris scans can't be used to remotely track your movements, and unlike fingerprints they can't be used to identify your presence after the fact. (Well they can but only with your permission. Even good security camera mostly produces pictures that makes identifying faces difficult. It certainly can't take a sharp enough image of your iris from a distance.)

What part of The camera doesn't have playback or audio recording as it was never designed to shoot video is unclear to you? It's a still camera. Someone hacked it into an impractical video camera with no sound. Maybe the sensor will survive being powered for far longer than it was designed to, or maybe it will overheat and be irreparably damaged. It's a cool hack and that is all that it is. Nobody is getting cheated here.

The single eye with lens has evolved at least twice on Earth (once in vertebrates and once in arthropods) so it seems like the natural option. Still insects have evolved a different solution for vision. The obvious answer to that is that compound eyes are more practical when your head is tiny.
I've read somewhere that a mammal style eye on a bee would have to fill its entire head to be useful. A smaller eye would have an aperture only a couple of wavelenghts wide which would render a traditional lens incapable of forming an image.
