    I don't know. During the gold rush very few prospectors got rich, but the shopkeepers supplying the prospectors made a fortune. I expect that the situation at starbucks is similar.

    I second prints for the still images, but printing photos is my job so I may be biased. Still, I regularly handle prints from over 80 years ago and the majority is pretty well preserved. Color prints from the '70s tend to fade badly and slide film (even precious Kodachrome) is even worse.
    I think nobody in the world knows how long modern prints will last in real world conditions, despite the extensive lab testing that has been done.

    Have you tried using spreadsheets to run numerical simulations?
    Advantages are built-in graphing capability and no need for the kids to do any programming.
    Excel is found on most PCs and if it isn't then Libreoffice is free.

    Just because people use them to make shopping lists doesn't mean that they are limited to trivial tasks.

    The Espresso book machine does just that. You put in a pdf and a paperback pops out.

    Right now, there are only a couple of them installed around the world, but I'm sure that in time others will make similar systems and before you know it every copy place and bookstore will have three.

    An acceptable smartphone is around €400. I don't know where Anonymous shops, but I wouldn't seen dead in €4,- pants. Finding a decent pair for €40,- is a real bargain.

    If you don't know that we're sinking my fellow Dutchman, then you have been living under a rock.
    However with the population density we have here in the Netherlands, free standing houses are a massive waste of space, and I don't see tower blocks floating any day soon.

    Hey, I liked your message.
    Don't you find that changing how you communicate is different from changing who you are? I think all communication is very much a game with rules. Breaking the rules does get you sent off the field in any game.
    How would you feel about a footballer who doesn't want to play his best game because it would change who he was? (Scoring goals is too mainstream, it's just not me! ) I'd call that player a fool, but maybe that's just me.

    For every genius there is somebody who has difficulty tying his shoelaces unaided. You can't cater exclusively to the top, or to the bottom. The vast majority of public education has to cater to the center.

    For both extremes of the spectrum there should be special education, but the majority of pupils are best served with a system catering to the IQ 100 crowd.

    Running a society means doing what is best for all of society, not just what is best for niche groups.
