In it you will find some interesting items, like a little quote directly from Bill Gates

Microsoft's "PDA will connect to Office in a better way than other PDAs even if that means changing how we do flexible schema in Outlook and how we tie some of our audio and video advanced work to only run on our PDAs." Granted this is kind of OffTopic, but you asked.

After we decided to get married we had to move into seperate apartments (religious reasons) and she got used to the cable internet. Anyway, I would stay away from the PCI cards that just have a PCMCIA Card attached as the range kind of blows and they drop the connection regularly requiring a reboot of the computer. SMC makes a USB Network Adapter ($100 USD) that has a range of 1800 feet (without encryption enabled) and seems to be very reliable.
We have a couple of the USB adapters at work mounted outside of 2 buildings in fiberglass boxes to connect the buildings to our main network ( and one is about 1200 feet away and still works (barely) with 128 bit encryption ).

    U.S. Constitution - Article 10

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Microsoft is not "in the clear" yet. The two states involved are New York and California, probably a third of the US population live in either state. The states may not be able to break up Microsoft, but they can do lots of damage (especially with all of the "consumers" living in either state, a ban on distribution of Windows XP wouldn't be a joy-ride for MS).

Anyway the damage is being done as we speak. I went golfing (no jokes please) yesterday with a couple of people, a teacher and 2 engineers. When they found out that I worked on networks I could not believe what I heard. Everyone was fed up with Microsoft, the teacher even asked me to attend a board meeting that they are going to have to discuss what to do with all of the "Piracy Letters" that they recieved from the BSA over the last few months.

First off, you actually have to download the browser, so saying it is anticompetitive is ludicrous because no-one is forcing it upon you.

Next, there is such a thing as a custom install which you can select not to install all those things that you mentioned. And as for the AOL icons, well just delete them, it doesn't actually install the AOL client.

Even if you couldn't Not Install all of those things, how can you say that incorporating RealPlayer and Shockwave is anticompetitive, since both of those products come from different companies.

Microsoft is Anti-competitive because it does not want to have any software from any other company to exist! That is why they are incorporating CD Recording Software, Image Editing Software, etc. to WindowsXP. And if they had the opportunity, without getting into more legal trouble, they would install crippled versions of Word, Excel and their other products as well.

I see the future where you buy a computer from a company and it has all the software you need, every product coming from different companies or entities. This computer doesn't even need to be an Intel or AMD, you can choose whatever processor you want, even a motorolla. The future is Linux (Mandrake Linux to be exact.)

But apparantly they want to regulate "services" also ? Does that mean that a year after you set up a server and it goes down, that the person can sue you ?
Anything that the US government gets involved in, or tries to "regulate" gets totally jacked up. There is no need for them to get involved with anything like this, if you don't like the warranty, don't buy/use the product or services. All this will do is to open up more unneccessary lawsuits, especially when the government's laws are made to be so vague that you can decipher them to mean just about anything.
