Many posts make fun of this guy because he doesn't present himself well by writing. For similar reasons people tend to juge him as dumbass. Please remeber that he suffers from dyslexia.
People tend to see the GoogleAd box here only as a money gaining mechanism for Google. This is not true.
Google prvides wide range fo searching mechanisms for it's users. It has it's PageRank system. It's links to the Open Directory, Usenet articles, etc. I tend to see this GoogleAd box as an economy driven search ranking system. If Ad is well placed it will show more often and the owner of it can pay for it to the Google. Otherwise it will eventually fade. Money driven darwinism results better search results.
This is funny. First, xenu.net appeared on the search result. Second, news section above search results pointed to CNET article about google removing the xenu.net pages.
I really liked that movie, but hate the fact that they sold out to a fast-food chain.
Don't be so mad.
As you know film maker have to get their pay roll and if little kids feel that they can get more out of the film when playing with some toys, while eating their madatory fast-food after the film, why not give them their fun?
WINEX... insulates programmers from cross-platform considerations.
I'm personally great beliver of java. It seem to be gathering wind beneath its wind so well that in a few years we will see games written on java.
The question of cross-platform really vanishes by the popularity of java.
It was in New scientist (no link available, sorry). Engines like these are needed in joints of exosceleton. Other solutions (backbag engine or batteries) are not viable.
Anyway, it is not fruitful to shootdown good research just because nobody can't come up with application in a second. The question why anyone wants tiny hydrogen-powered turbine generator will be definetly ansered in future.
Thank you for your intresting view.
You are correct, there are problems with treating online game space as market.
I definitely hope that any future online games forbid the sale of items. And the final statement from Paul Sams gives me a little bit of hope that it will at least be so in Blizzard's future game World of Warcraft... Ok, now you have gone too far. It is no solution to stacker development of online communities. Real money trading in online world is not inheritly evil. It is just that current worlds are not mature enough to handle the real money. Let's not forbit real money, let's hope that next game world is well enough to hadle it.
As readers are mentioning long sentences, you should know that the last chapter of James Joyces Ulysses, Chapter 18: Penelope, consists of 8 sentences and 1600 lines of text.
But by dropping the atomic bomb, a weapon of unforseen destructive power, their mindset was broken
This is just not true. The bomb didn't alter the mind set of those japanise who were in power. In fact peace negoation were going on and Japan was to surrend with only one demand. They demanded that emperorhood (wihtout any politacal power) should remain in place.
After the bombings peace was made and emperorhood was not abolished. There is no good political reason for this inhumane brutal killing of 80000 civian person. Only reasons I see are militarian. US wanted to scare shit out of the world or something like that.

Where the very laws that the Lord decreed cannot be used to determine behaviour? This strikes me as a somewhat flawed design, because if laws apply, they should apply everywhere! And because black holes would mean this was not the case, I personally don't see how they could exist in a well-formed Universe.
Surely laws of universe apply everywhere in the universe. Our aproximation of those laws just don't determine behaviour inside black holes.
And when she does, I'm gonna get a hell of a blowjob. She promised.

Well there is a problem solved. Searching 'scientology' comes with www.xenu.net at #2. This is a Good Thing(TM).
I encourage people not to judge Google's update before a few patches. All x.0 releases are non-functional. All you software engineer should know.

I prefer IGS server. Client is way worser than with KGS, but it easier to get to play in IGS. Also pros hang out in the IGS.

US isn't going to nuke anyone.
Well, that is something you don't know. As I see it, why not if it is in the intrest of US.

(2) The star collapses giving you:
a) black hole
or
b) nova/supernova
Nice comment. You made little mistake thou. Blackhole and nova aren't exclusive.

Well, it's not so bad. It only means that Debian trees should be marked as RedHat x.y compatible.

It bugs me that slashdot is so US centric. These babies have been available for ages in other parts of the world, so what is the news?

In a nut shell, better memory performance does not affect a bit. So we must wait for better benchmarks.
