    Whatever penalty they end up with, it had better include a financial component covering their gains plus a substantial penalty on top as a minimum. I hold no faith in justice systems to impose a serious enough jail term for this.

    Really? That's your argument? An example that has NOTHING to do with the example of the grammatical construct that's being discussed. At no point did I say that I agree with every modification of the English language, I was just indicating that a fixed language is a DEAD language.

    If they ever get released, THQ filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on December 19th. Presumably they'll try to monetize whatever developed IP is left, so we may yet get a release but I'm not holding my breath.

    Thank you for actually being a good Senator, that introduces good bills that create or change laws that help out the average US Citizen. I'm glad I voted for you the last time you were on the ballot, and if I still lived in Oregon I'd vote for you again.

    I'm too cynical, my immediate reaction is "What is he getting from this, and does it have any real chance of passing?".

    The website is a UAV/UAS enthusiasts website, so of course they're going to use the terminology of UAVs. As for the drone part, it was only in the headline so an editor or sub-editor chose it. You know, an editor from a group of DRONE ENTHUSIASTS. So I think that you've answered your own question, it's to derive coolness from them. These are people with a hobby that may seem esoteric and uninteresting to many but they like to think that what they do is cool, just like any other sort of geek. Same as a tabletop RPG geek would normally say a "D20" instead of a "20 sided dice". You appear to see something wrong with that, maybe the problem is not with this article but instead with your perception of it.

    What gets me is that this story has been tagged "donotwant". Who is so cynical that they believe that games via Steam on Linux is a bad thing? I can understand an individual choosing not to use the service, but branding it as "donotwant" for all Linux users?

    Sure, in countries with shitty regulatory environments and 'rule of law' that exists largely as a punchline, you have a class of professional 'fixers', who know how to make things happen when provided with a suitable supply of grease for the correct palms, along with a supply of thugs to which you can pay for 'protection' to ensure that bad things don't happen.

    FYI, iiNet has taken over most of the good ones, including Westnet. Their last marketing campaign was based around the slogan "We're number two". Not referring to the fact that they were sh!t (number 2) except ironically, but instead saying that they'd achieved the second largest market share of broadband after Telstra (the Australian company that had a virtual telco monopoly) DISCLAIMER: My housemate works for iiNet and I've been a long term customer.

    I don't get why Facebook is so against it? Theoretically at least they shouldn't be selling personally identifiable data, just aggregate data, so an individual identification won't affect their product.
