Yes, she does this often. And, she's EVERYFRIGGINGWHERE!! People who normally drive sensibly and without distractions often fail to see a motorcycle. Such people are rarer and rarer all the time.
I'll ditto that. In fact, I posted above. CE armor is alright, but it only covers a few vital points. I hope that when I go skidding down the road on various parts of my body, all of those parts are covered. That's pretty unlikely though!
American superheros are out of style, and will soon be history. The emasculated administration of our schools are trying to have kids arrested for even thinking about anything heroic.
Sorry, those are not my main, or favorite sources for news - but the liberal media doesn't seem to like those kind of stories.
I don't know where tomorrow's heroes will come from, but I'm afraid they won't be coming from the United States. Maybe Canada will step up to the plate. I can't imagine the UK taking our place, they already live in Orwelle's 1984. The British guy I work with says he tried to enlist. They hammered him with a psyche test, and one of the questions was, "Why do you want to be a soldier?" His honest answer, "I want to have a gun!" disqualified him. Not only did it disqualify him for military service, but apparently, the shrink came unglued on him.
I just want to know when I can replace my riding outfit http://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/tourmaster-flex-le-jacket/ with something that's armored everywhere. The CE armor available only protects critical portions of the body. (kidneys, spleen, elbows, shoulders, basically) I want memory foam that protects everywhere!!
Egypt can just seize the servers at any time. Weren't there stories about Egypt and Blackberry servers? Government wanted the ability to intercept and decrypt communications going through those servers, and Blackberry eventually rolled over, IIRC.
Putting divers in the water is risky and expensive.
A stepson got involved with a female creature from the Tulsa area, and a child resulted. That female creature abandoned the little baby girl in a Wal-Mart. All of the female relations that I've met or heard of are like black widow spiders - deadly to anyone around them.
The eldest female member of the clan is serving time for soliciting to have her husband killed for the insurance money.
A lot of people have male relations who serve prison time. When all of your FEMALE relations are ALSO convicts, things are strange indeed.
Ruby Ridge crowd? Uhhhmmmm - how many people were in that "crowd" that you refer to? And - the guy didn't make himself an "immobile target" exactly. That's just kinda sorta the thing that happens when you start raising a family. It's tough to raise kids on horseback, or in a Greyhound bus, or whatever.
I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt for a moment. I was scratching my head, wondering if some new incarnation of a machine gun had been named the "Daisy Cutter".
I suppose that if the real Daisy Cutter had a "caliber", it would be "focking HUMUNGOUS" or something like that.
(Ironically, Canada does not currently have in place a coherent system that tracks violent criminals on probation or parole — instead choosing to track law-abiding, licensed duck hunters, farmers and recreational sport shooters.)
This is one of the reasons I'm more supportive of universal background checks, than of any other aspect of gun control. Here, in the states, we don't track nutcases at all, and tracking of violent criminals is ineffective.
"An Access to Information request discovered that 4,438 stolen firearms had been successfully reregistered without alerting authorities. Apparently, the thieves had resold the firearms to new owners who (unsuspectingly) had subsequently registered them. This is a classic database problem: garbage in, gospel out."
1: By the time you realize that you've looked at a laser, it's already to late.
2: How about you wear cutting goggles while you're out driving at night? Not just shades, but nice, dark, ANSI approved cutting goggles. Think it might impair your vision, just a little?
"To save the children, you'd have to make taking a parenting course mandatory for people wanting children, or who are pregnant."
Such classes should only be available for persons in possession of reproductive organs. And, it should be mandatory for all such persons.
Seriously - people wanting children and people who are pregnant? I guess that lets guys off the hook. My idiot sons can be idiots, but the women in their lives had better know what life is about, right?
You seem to presume that all Linux people are alike. Tell you what - next time you're browsing, take a look at the names. Some of the names seem to be obviously female, some seem just as obviously male. Different, huh? Oh - some of the posters are obviously young, others are older than dirt. Different, again! Some of us like the toe-jam guy, others of us don't. Wow - more difference!
For the most part, I only use free stuff. But, sometimes, the closed source commercial stuff is all that's available, or it's the easiest solution, or it's the solution that I understand. And, sometimes, it's actually the best.
Each and every one of us penguin people has to decide for himself just what it is that he needs and wants from Linux, and his machine(s). I'm slightly less passionate about "free" than some other people. Others don't give a damn either way. Give us a break, alright? We didn't all go to boot camp to learn how to be Linux geeks. There isn't just one right way. For proof of that, just start counting up the distros!
Dude - you've got to get out of your private little fantasy world up there at Texas Instruments. I know that there are a lot of steers and queers along Interstate 35. But, that corridor isn't all there is of Texas. What are you guys using Linux for at TI, anyway? And, how did you teach the steers to use a computer?
Do we continue to censor our children, out of some misguided fear of guns and weapons? Or, do we try to minimize the potential dangers of violent "entertainment"?
As for advocating censorship - no, I'm thinking out loud, really. I don't know the answers. One thing I know for certain, is that I don't like the way children are being punished for "acting out", as the educators would put it.
Have I mentioned that the terrorists have won? Americans are so damned afraid of violence, they are willing to put children in court for petty "offenses" such as wearing jewelry shaped like a gun.
"I'm afraid I don't understand the dilemma here. Why can't we have no censorship and not bar children from researching the world around them?"
I was pointing out the fact that we do live with censorship. And, the current direction that censorship is taking seems far worse than just getting rid of some stupid games, and even stupider movies.
I'd rather encourage the children, than to encourage the freak who spends his waking hours immersed in violent "entertainment".
No, actually not. A number of studies suggest that increasing gun controls lead to higher crime rates, while relaxing gun control laws lead to lower crime rates.
Are the numbers on that page slanted somehow? I'm not certain. But, I've seen a number of similar studies and graphs that suggest that site is accurately recording history.
Let's think, a moment. Say that you're a criminal type. You've found it more lucrative to burgle homes and businesses, than to work for a wage. Stupid, yeah, but obviously some people arrive at just such a conclusion.
You live on or near a state line. On one side, guns are legal. On the other side, guns are illegal. On the first side, burglarizing a home could result in a face-to-face meeting with an armed home owner. On the other side, that likelihood is almost infinitesimal. If you have the bad luck of meeting the homeowner, he/she will likely be armed with a shoe, or a hammer, or at most, a butcher knife.
So, which direction are YOU going to go, in search of potential victims? How much risk of being shot during a burglary are you willing to accept?
I don't feel the graphic violence in games or in movies is justified. Our society glorifies violence, then punishes people for acting out in a violent manner.
Censorship? I don't know - we see it happening all around us. Little children are being suspended for such silly things as drawing a picture of a gun. Just today, I read a story of a little girl being interrogated and sent home on suspension. Her crime? She had some rocks, a hammer, and a screwdriver in her backpack. She has recently discovered that cracking open some rocks exposes pretty, shiny things inside. Geodes, I think they are called.
We're basically outlawing geologic inquisitiveness in little girls, because we can't control the violent members of society.
Which is worse - a little censorship in violent entertainment, or barring children from researching the world around them?
Oh wait - let's be careful about those citations. I can find biased reports on both sides of the issue. I really don't know if there is an unbiased source for reliable statistics. I do know that the liberal side is clearly full of lies. The other side? Maybe they are exaggerating their numbers too. But, if so, the lies are not obvious.
Why is it that the highest violent crime rates in the US of A are in cities with the strictest gun control laws? If/when you can find an explanation for that, I might reconsider my position on weapons.
Huh, wut?
You mighta sorta had a point - until that last sentence. WTF?

Sad days ahead, I think, for the US and UK.

So - crawl up a chickens ass and wait. You'll be laid soon.
Why go to all that bother and expense?
Egypt can just seize the servers at any time. Weren't there stories about Egypt and Blackberry servers? Government wanted the ability to intercept and decrypt communications going through those servers, and Blackberry eventually rolled over, IIRC.

Three adults, one kid, versus a myriad of entangled government agencies.
Perhaps you're confusing Ruby Ridge with Waco? There was a real crowd in Waco.

Some bigotry is politically correct and fashionable.
"*I've lived in rural Oklahoma for nearly seven years and I have never met more maladjusted, sexually-closeted weirdos in my entire life..."
Cimarron country? Some of the strangest people live up there. And, I've met strange, all over the world, so yes, I know strange!
Citations? Seems obvious that you're full of atheistic feces.

The central banks, that's who. Which nation's economies aren't controlled by a central bank affiliated with the world bank?
It's for globalization and the one world government. What else? Hell, we're being conditioned to accept and respect titles like "czar" already.
When the ruling class is ready for us to know who holds the puppet strings, they'll let us know.
