Just because those that call themselves Christians or Jews don't actually follow the rules in the books which makes them Christians or Jews doesn't make the religion anymore peaceful. Tell that to half the soldiers oversees who think they are fighting a war for God, like Palins son lol. We're on a mission from God!! On the radio they even said Apple is making a 'cheap' laptop in light of the financial crisis.

Sorry I ran off I understand Wordpress is not necc a content management system, more something like Joomla. Another thing thats turns me off about the CMS is the speed, they're just a lot slower than some clean code that does exactly what you want and still has flexibility. A lot of out of the box web apps suffer from this though as they try to be as flexible as possible so stuff that should be coming out of a config or something like that usually ends up having to get read out of a database every time.

  5. Re:Framework + CMS on PHP5 CMS Framework Development · · Score: 0

I agree with you. I have a basic CMS that I built on top of CakePHP that handles groups, users, permissions, comments for whatever model (comments for audio section or blogs, etc all in one controller) and a blog all using built in Cake functionality (Authentication, ACL, CRUD, Pagination, etc.), anything else is a lot easier to add within that framework than lets say, Wordpress. For example if you want to add forums where the users are the same for the blog comments, or an audio section or photo gallery. If you know you're just creating a straight up blog and you're not a developer though your better off going the Wordpress route though.

I completely see your point about Google being big brother, I too am paranoid and though I like Google right now I don't and never will completely trust a corporation.

I did pre-order my G1 the day it came out though because it's completely open, you can replace every single app on the phone, even the desktop. So people like you and I who maybe don't want all the information to go through Google can easily change this.

Of course this is only if they don't fuck it up!

Yep, pre-ordered mine a few hours ago, should be at my front door October 22nd! I use Gmail and Google Apps for Domains, should work the same with Google Apps so this will be great.

Plus its only $25 a month for unlimited data and 400 text messages (I don't even use that many), since its open I'm sure it will be no time before an app offers tethering. They've announced it does not do that now though.

yea I still don't see what the big deal is with the iPhone. It's just as restrictive as any other phone, and it has no keyboard. I've been able to copy and paste from emails on my phone since the Sidekick color, that was at least like 6 years ago, and have been playing Sonic the Hedgehog for over a year on this Sidekick III, the keyboard is what keeps me around, the iPhones nice response to tilt for some games and stuff is cool but really does nothing for me. I even got a terminal client on the old sk -- mind you the browser is a joke but usable on sites that are meant for mobile and the lock in on it is pretty ridiculous. My contract has been up for about 6 months now, just been waiting for the Dream Phone. It does or can do at least everything the iPhone does, plus a slide out keyboard and open OS, besides maybe looks if you like shiny little toys or marketing I don't really see what the competition is...

Actually if you read the article, that is the same case in the UK. For the most part, people buying linux PCs are specifically looking for a linux pre-installed PC.

Yet Linux has nevertheless made an impressive gain. The UK's distribution business was built around the arteries of marketing money flowing from vendors - money they earned from selling their software. You might say that the distribution business is dependent on the marketing funds it gets from vendors.

Not sure, but I doubt linux is putting up some marketing bucks.
