    Bitcoin was never about security or anonymity. It was a proof of concept that took off.

  2. Other channels have done similar idiotic things. Viewership is down so they just add more commercial time into programs. I've seen half hour shows that now take 36 minutes. They were already running 21 minutes of show to 9 minutes of commercials. Now add six minutes onto that.

    I like the side channels better than any of the main ones. They play old shows or other oddball programming.

    You have no idea what you're talking about. Can you elaborate on "electrodes" being "contaminated"? Are you referring to cathode poisoning? That only happens in circuits where the tube is in cutoff for extended periods (like in digital circuits). Also extending your logic, no two opamps respond exactly the same either. How low in ppm do you want to get here?

    Not worth it unless you have a death wish. Also what are you supposed to do in the summer when its hot and humid already in the morning? Get to work and be soaked with sweat? Plus around here we have these things called hills. Some of which are over 20% grade.

    The original intent was to me made as cheaply as possible so students could afford them. Before the $35 Pi you couldn't find single board computers for under $100 as they were for industrial and embedded applications.

    This has been an ongoing issue for years. There is not one other site out of billions on the internet with this same problem. Why does it only happen with Slashdot?

    Take a look at Bentley prices on eBay. At some point the car has fully depreciated and the mileage doesn't matter. It could have 20,000 or 70,000 miles and the difference in price is negligible. So you take out a loan for the amount and drive the car for three years and then sell it. It hasn't lost any value and you're only out the loan interest rate. The new Toyota meanwhile has lost a significant amount in three years. That is of course barring major repairs like a transmission or engine work.

    I can make the argument that its cheaper to own a used Bentley for three years than it is to own a brand new Toyota.

    You really don't know what you're talking about. Nearly every part for Mercedes and BMW has aftermarket equivalents. Even the pneumatic and hydraulic suspension shocks have aftermarket replacements. Find me some of these sub assemblies that cost "thousands". Hell the coil packs on a V12 Bentley are the same as a BMW 3 series.
