If Worldcom goes under, what kind of implications will be seen in the telecommunications market? I mean, UUNet is a major backbone provider, MCI is a major LD provider, Digex is a major hosting service. Not to mention the fact that WCOM owns the MAE's.
Could this cause major issues with routing and Internet access in general?

Also as an OU student, I don't see the UNIX culture going away.
Granted, it's run by IT professionals, but OU just spent a huge sum of money (in the millions) on a new e-mail system to replace 'iris' (a Solaris box bigger than 'atlas') strictly built on Sun hardware. They seem entrenched in Solaris (and, to a point, NT) for their workhorse machines, giving very little attention to Linux.
I may be way off bounds, but I thought that true cloning was the creation of identical organisms that did not come from sexual reproduction. In this case, the egg was already fertilized... so, it is sexual reproduction. The monkey produced is NOT a truly equal to the opposite. Gazateer
Has to be the US Government, if they hadn't messed with NSI in the first place we wouldn't have to worry about it and deal with this lame shared WHOIS database where you have to enter specific servers just to get detail. What a waste of a good thing. Gaz
