    The presses are no big deal, any off set will do the job. What's supposedly hard to get is in this order.

    1. The Plates 2. The Ink 3. The Paper

    Then of course there are all of the security features that you need to find your way around.

    Most people in Africa don't have an abbundance of books, so why do they need a solar powered reading lamp in the tent? Especially if it's only going to attract bandits anyway.

    People shouldn't be too quick to proclaim this much of an improvement to the lives of people over there. Just take a look at what happened with all of the mosquito netting that is sitting in warehouses, instead of being distributed to the people who need it to reduce the risk of malaria.

    Anytime you take a metal into a liquid state, you are vaporizing a portion of it, I am an Ironworker/Welder, and many people said the same thing about galv.
    It has nothing to do with period autos, it has to do with the fact that metal adheres to metal better.

    Since it seems pretty clear the whole point of TFA was to draw attention to this project, kind of like free advertising I figure I'll just jump on the bandwagon.

    Why do people want to do things with a PHONE that will make it so that they can't use it as a PHONE?

    That's simply not true, there are far more than 1% of body workers exposing themselves to lead. True that the percentage is not high, and hopefully they are wearing masks. There are many things that bondo will NOT acheive(spelling?), one of them being staying power, it is nowhere near as reliable or longlasting(except on a fibre panel).

    In auto restoration they will often use lead rod to complete the metal work. It would be nice to see a Human Friendly alternative that would provide the same results. Hell, it would be nice to find an alternative that would keep our repairmen alive a little longer too.

    Especially since changing the momentum of that mass requires fuel, lots of it - and that adds to the mass. At some point it becomes a vicious cycle, at least until a far more efficient propulsion system is put into place.

    I don't know if something like this would be possible or not, tell me what you think.

    A proprietary interface that would be distributed by the bank when you open your account.
    Each interface would have a distinct set of code in it, this would be different in each package-say for example half of a virus.
    When somebody else attempts to do a man in the middle attack, or keylogging to access your account, they would be attacked by the other half of the virus.
    It could do something like just shut their system down, or go to an extreme and perform a low level format.

    This could have a far better use. As the technology develops and power consumption drops it could be a benefit to 911 services. Currently the technology to aquire the location of a cell phone call to emergency numbers is crude or non-existent. If a caller is unable to talk but still has the wherewithall to call 911 he is unable to tell them where he is, with a system like this it would allow response personel to still find them.

    It never ceases to amaze me that people want to trust wireless devices for secure purposes, anything that is sent through the air can be captured and worked on. But are wired solutions really anymore secure? I mean can't packets that go out still be captured and worked on?
