I'm a Tigers fan and a math geek. I hope Cabrera wins the MVP. If I had a vote, I'd vote for Mike Trout.
There are 2 big "unifying" stats, WAR (wins above replacement) and WPA (win probability added).
WAR treats every at bat the same (and base-running and fielding). Trout had a higher WAR than Cabrera, and the highest in MLB.
WPA treats every at bat based on how it alters your team's chance of winning. Trout had a higher WPA than Cabrera, and the highest in the AL (not sure about MLB).
But US bullies the world and lets other citizens die because they're not American.
I disagree. First off, big pharma is fully willing to let plenty of Americans die (if they can't afford their medication). Big pharma is also fully willing to help plenty of non-Americans pay for the medication they need. It is much more money-related than citizenship related.
Ok, even though I already stated that I realized there were plenty of possible reasons, here's what was in my head:
1. European or other non-US time zone.
2. Vacation day.
3. Non-standard work week.
4. Lunch break if in PDT.
5. Other standard break (much like when I posed original comment).
Funny thing is, my original intention was to do a quick check of other posts to confirm a probable standard US time zone, then mod parent +1 funny. With all the obvious sarcasm, had parent not posted AC, would have earned at least a +1.
Had a friend that was in Shanghai for about a year. Worked for Rockwell. So a US/Canana/UK based company that has a Beijing office might be your best shot.
That was my exact situation, in 1997. Unemployment had caused me to fall behind on the student loan. Needed a transcript for the new job. Called them. Funny enough "let me have a transcript so I can get the job that will result in you getting paid back" seemed reasonable to them too.
Microsoft would never use the newly acquired patents to force companies to stop using them. They would use the newly acquired patents to force companies to pay a fee to use them. Specifically, they would suggest to Google that they should license the SSL patent for use in Chrome.
Of course the NSA does NOT have the ability to do what Congress asked the general about. If they had that ability, they wouldn't need to build the Utah data center. Once the data center is complete, they'll have the ability. Just not right now.
I'll chime in with the T-Mobile people. The biggest problem with T-Mobile is their coverage. However, you should easily be able to tell if it is going to be a problem for you. In my case, it isn't, but many coworkers that live in more rural areas have problems.
I have a cheaper android phone, purchased unlocked from Newegg, with data turned off. I have the T-Mobile pay-as-you-go SIM-only plan. Buy the minutes $100 at a time, because then they don't expire for a year. Otherwise, it is generally 90 days.
At home and work I have wireless access (along with most places I go). So I only miss the full data plan once or twice a year, and it certainly isn't worth the price difference to get it.
Let us not forget that ALS is a Diagnosis of Exclusion. Rule everything else out, and it's the only thing left. Also means if doctors do find a definitive test for ALS, some patients previously diagnosed with ALS might have to be re-diagnosed.
Linux is already so retarded that I doubt anybody will notice. We've long reached the stage where there's far too much stuff in the mainline kernel. Every other option is now "WTF is this?" -- where I once understood every single configuration option.
It takes Russia a longtime to catch up. Now they are finally equal to the US in 2000.
They're still years away from equaling the US. They may have figured out election fraud, but we hide it much better here. Not completely, but much better.
It's going to be an interesting legal case because (practically) every 'move' operation on a computer is really a copy-and-delete-the-original operation
So you're saying when I defragment my hard drive, I'm violating copyright for any music file that's partially (or wholly) moved during the defrag? And here I thought I was doing a pretty decent job of playing by the rules.
From TFA:
"for half the day Gabriel attends a small, arts-oriented junior-high school in the Lake Washington School District called Renaissance School of Art and Reasoning, where he takes dance, drama and language arts."

Really, just sounds like the engine needs to go into a VW Bug (classic, obviously)
Agree on this. We used trello for task managing and bug tracking for a small (2 person) work project and we were very happy with the results.
Your sentence doesn't have a subject.
Sure it does. It's just implied. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subject_(grammar)

it could encourage productivity and for those of us who really go 100% during work time, the appreciation of our colleagues.
Says someone posting in the middle of the day on a Friday.
Yes, I realize there are plenty of reasons why these two items might not conflict. However given that it was posted AC, I reject said reasons.

Just wondering when Microsoft sues the NSA for patent infringement for using Android.

That's not fair. There aren't any cavemen around to defend themselves against such insulting accusations.
Only because their show got cancelled.
And my mod points just expired. Darn.
TFA states that they are seeking compensation from Lockheed. Hopefully, that'll happen without an actual suit.

Linus, you don't have to post as an AC.
I don't think they are patent trolls, somehow.

Depends on your point of view. This is the company that sued (and lost) claiming a patent on the hyperlink.

My god. Were the early 90's really 20 years ago?
Not all of them.
Extra charge for allowing you access to IPv6?
Extra charge for staying with IPv4?
Extra charge for keeping your IPv4 if you also want IPv6?
