And that's great, and I carry media with me too. Though as time goes by, I worry more about TSA demanding access to look through all my shit.
If I'm out of town and want to download and watch something new, I can just RDP to home, download it to my Plex folder, and stream away. I was in a long distance relationship recently, and we used Plex to be able to watch stuff together easily. You think it would be better to rsync shit to my girlfriend's computer? Give me a break. I download it once and we can both watch it immediately.
I can SSH into my home system, transcode a media file with a single command to ffmpeg
You only strengthen my point about ease-of-use. You can do that. I can do that. Most people can't.
Plex is a nice product that effectively lets you run your own private Netflix, very easily. And it's FREE! Honestly, the things people find to complain about...
Maybe you never leave your basement, but the rest of us do. What happens when you want to watch something outside your network? I don't use Plex much at home but it's great when I'm travelling to be able to effortlessly stream from my home computer.
Plex does realtime transcoding to adjust the quality based on available bandwidth. How's your brilliant fucking file server solution going to help with that?
Not to mention all the features you get like automatic metadata/poster fetching, sorting & categorization, keeping track of what you've watched and how much of something you've watched...
But yeah, useful features and ease-of-use are for idiots.
I would argue the modern trend of "language mashing" actually started with Joss Whedon's style of writing dialog, starting with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
The novel Star Wars: Bloodline (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Bloodline) apparently deals with the time period right before Force Awakens and sets up The First Order, the new Resistance, etc.
Got anything to back that up? Anything at all other than just being a hater? No?
It states on the Instagram post:
As mentioned in prior posts, once fully operational (demo system rides will be free), the system will always give priority to pods for pedestrians & cyclists for less than the cost of a bus ticket.
I certainly don't claim to have any proof (and I do like to think that free will exists), but I've always been struck by this thought experiment:
If you make a choice, and then could somehow reset the entire universe back to the exact same state, wouldn't you always make the same choice again?
And if you DON'T make the same choice again (due to something that is somehow a truly random "coin flip" in your thought process), is that really "free will" either? Or just random?
Congratulations, you win a gold medal in pedantically overcomplicating things and completely missing the point.
If I say "longest straight line I can draw on the US West Coast", it's pretty obvious I'm talking about a line from the NW tip of Washington to the SW tip of California, in a direct "as the crow flies" path, not spiralling around the fucking planet. The word "LONGEST" in this CONTEXT means "the farthest two points from each other you can find" on the coastline.
Every armchair genius in here commenting about how this is nothing new or impressive is completely missing that this creates a fully posable and articulated model with joints, etc.
Please show me a prior example of an existing solution that accomplishes the same thing from regular video footage.
Here's an idea, next time you think you've come up with a (beyond obvious) solution that NASA hasn't thought of, figure out what YOU are missing instead.

Heh, I was being a LITTLE troll-y. The post was so comically abrasive, myopic and self-centred I couldn't help myself.
But you know what's WAY MORE trollish? Calling people that use Plex idiots.

It's satirical, which is a form of humour.

Nobody heard Bush talk and thought "I want to sound like that guy". But "Whedonesque" dialog was quirky and cool.
It's more accurate to call it Space Opera. But Space Opera is a sub-genre of Science Fiction.
The novel Star Wars: Bloodline (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Bloodline) apparently deals with the time period right before Force Awakens and sets up The First Order, the new Resistance, etc.
Why wouldn't actors fit the above definition?
They work on temporary contracts and sell services.
Nobody is arguing that Boba Fett isn't popular. Of course he is.
But "less is more". One of the reasons Fett is popular is BECAUSE he is largely unknown and mysterious.
Got anything to back that up? Anything at all other than just being a hater? No?
It states on the Instagram post:
You're missing the forest for the trees.
The point is that we can easily establish a MINIMUM. Nitpicking over what would exactly would constitute maximums is completely missing the point.

LOL what exactly is so special about 16K RAM? https://yourlogicalfallacyis.c...
I cut my teeth on a VIC20 (5K RAM), then later a C64 (which ran at 1.023MHz...)
You're pedantically conflating "power" and "generation".
Why? Because you think people don't understand that batteries don't generate infinite power by themselves? Great point. Thanks for educating us.
I'll get right on suing everyone that uses the phrase "battery powered" for false advertising.

The co-op is kinda dodgy to get working, but if you can get it up and running with 2-3 friends it's one of the best co-op experiences I've ever had.
There's also some mods that improve the graphics somewhat.
That's probably why his subject line is "With Tablets is this even relevant anymore?" instead of "Why didn't they use Android tablets back in 2005?"

Next you need to play through System Shock 2, it's even better.
I'm typing this on a 2011 Macbook Air. It's as good as the day I bought it, and has seen heavy daily usage. (I did replace the battery after 6 years)
I'm not a fan of all the ports they dropped on the newer models tho :/
Thank you for spouting idiotic non-sequiturs in place of actual discussion, AC.
Nice strawman. Nobody said anything about "parallels in society today".
We're just wondering what the blooming fuck you think 1984 and thought police have to do with THIS SPECIFIC STORY.
Giphy removing a racist image is not an example of government censorship or thought police, you hyperbolic twat.
Were so sorry we cant thing as good as you
Energy is plentiful. They need propellant.
The fuel is for PROPULSION, genius.
