    Apparently, the new OS is going to be a monolithic Unix-alike called "Bollocks" and it's going to take Google and Amazon chair on in the cloud space.

    No, C++ is much, much more error prone and slow to develop with than Java.

    Java has much nicer debugging capabilities, you typically don't have to deal with hard crashes, preprocessor mistakes, architecture problems, etc.

    That said, you ultimately get more control over the software with C++, there's no blackbox JIT runtime optimizing your code.

    Stardock makes awful, banal games that only a calculator could love (which they aren't glitching and crashing)

    Their version of Star Control will be horrific.
