    Are they mad at Debian? The thing that annoys most on Linux are the gnu-parts in the userland. Why should someone with a nice and well-designed bsd-userland use the gnu-tools instead?

    Before 10.5 you normally used NSThread that mapped down to mach-threads. Starting with 10.5 the better way is to use the NSOperation-api and do away with direkt thread-managment. In 10.6 GCD (GrandCentralDispatch) is the best way to do it.

    Ähm... No coder with a sane mind would use pthreads and the Posix-layer when writing code for OSX.

    You are allowed 7.5% bloodalcohol in the us? We have 1/15 of that in germany and as far as I remember you should be long dead with 7.5% from alcohol-poisoning...

    Something is really wrong with american cars... Even my Nissan Xtrail (a SUV) has roughly 28mpg. Many cars have more for decades.

    It doesn't? Theora-encoding on my quad-core xeon is roughly 5 times slower than h264-encoding of the same base-vid. I call that shitty performance and considering that the iq was much worse at roughly the same size I don't care if Theora rots somewhere to death.
