having a long hosts file can cause long delays on laptops when connecting to wireless networks, the dns cache service has to check with the file. this is especially noticeable on netbooks

If you can remembver the name of the product afterwards, then the ad is working. Also, and I know this may come as a shock, but not every ad is going to be perfectly relevent to you.

if you produce biofuel for your own use, you must pay a tax on the usage of the fuel on public roads of around $0.42 per gallon after the first 50 gallons IIRC. at least that's what it was when i looked into it a few years back. there are laws on the books about homemade fuel

what i want to know is why not license it to other companies, but with big licensing terms such as, 1. all hardware on the board or in the case must work fully with OS X 2. the drivers for all devices used for the board/computer must be provided to apple (if you have the drivers written for something so you can include it in your "OS X compatible" you will provide apple or other manufacturers with what they need to use that device in the future) 3. you must pay a premium to be able to claim your devices are OS X compatible and put the sticker on the case 4. you must agree to provide support for your hardware, in physical warranty for 1 year 5. you must agree to provide support for your hardware, in software and driver support for 2 years 6. any motherboard or computer sold with the OS X compatible sticker must include a copy of OS X

perhaps without these laws, some business owners would actually discover this information, instead of following the rules they know they have to follow. Too many people in management positions do what they are legally required to do, without knowing anything about respect and dignity. They only know that their activity falls within the guild lines, not why the guild lines were made. They know that their actions are legal, and therefore must be right. The end result is they have a lot of employees that they treat just well enough not to quit. I would love to see more "successful" managers with the people skills necessary to keep employees happy, not just barely unhappy enough not to quit.
When a car battery boils like that, it's also electrolyzing the acid/water solution inside. The "spray" will not just be "mild acid" but also hydrogen gas, which is easily ignited by any sparks nearby. (my dad has had a battery explode on him at least once.)
You had remote card punchers? we would DREAM of having remote card punchers. Back in my day, we had to program our computers by forging new gears for it every time we wanted to do something different. oh but we were happy back in those days
