  2. I'm paying too much already and it's going up enough I may no longer be able to afford it many more years- because I earn just a little too much!
    I am dropping down a level and will be paying about the same or a little more.

    That's one way- all the people I'm supporting because it's just another damn tax, and I already pay plenty of taxes, am just about taxed to death in fact.

    It's destroying healthcare for me, and when I and others pay less and less and eventually stop paying, it'll mean less money into the system.

    RC aircraft are usually not large enough to allow for a registration number to be read unless one is holding the device in one's hand.

    I would suggest they require a mandatory transponder that is designed to always be in operation when the craft is operating.

    A transponder that would operate on what frequencies, and would respond to what, and for what purpose?

    Quad copters are the 'slob enabled technology' (SET) version of model aircraft.
    No skill barrier to entry, and a skill-barrier to entry does a lot to preclude reckless acts which can endanger the ability to carry out the activity.

    Example: It takes skill to ride a dirt-bike, quads are the slob-enabled technology version of the activity.

    Pretty high requirements on the aiming gear though to do it from a moving platform.

    1. Do you know how rarely aircraft fly with live air to ground ordinance in US air space? Live fire practice is actually pretty rare and the bad PR of an F-16 fully loaded with bombs crashing into a shopping mall is very hight.

    Actually, they do it all the time in the restricted airspace ranges.
    The live-fire range at Ft. Drum is/was used by F-16s, A-10s, B-52s, Reapers, etc etc.

    When the F16s flew out of Syracuse they would fly to Ft. Drum and load live armaments there.

    The pilot training for learning how to fly it is done elsewhere.

    After the pilots are qualified to fly, they come here to learn how to use it as a surveillance/weapons platform.
