    Fahrenheit just makes more sense to most of us. 30s = cold, 40s = chilly, 50s = cool, 60s = decent/might need a windbreaker, 70s = nice, 80s = warm, 90s = hot, etc, etc.

    Im from minnesota:
60 above zero: Californians shiver uncontrollably. People in Minnesota sunbathe.
35 above zero: New York landlords finally turn up the heat. People in Minnesota have the last cookout before it gets cold.
Zero: Californians fly away to Mexico. People in Minnesota get out their winter coats.
10 below zero: Hollywood disintegrates. The Girl Scouts in Minnesota are selling cookies door to door.
20 below zero: Washington DC runs out of hot air. People in Minnesota let the dogs sleep indoors.
40 below zero: ALL atomic motion stops. People in Minnesota start saying...'Cold enough fer ya?'
50 below zero: Hell freezes over. Minnesota public schools will open 2 hours late

back to the subject, anyone thinking of a 104F data center is crazy, its back enough when it gets ot be 80 in the office, i couldnt stand working in that heat ... Although i have (in kitchens) but thats different.

From a smaller business point (like mine) i dont need to advertise because my work speaks for itsself. I would put money on it to say, Metallica is one of the greatest rock bands. Maybe not now, but since 1981, how many records have the sold. And even today, can they not pack 30k - 50k into a stadium, everytime? who else can do that? Maybe im urguing with a bunch of people that like Britney spears or classic rock. Ive listen to metallica since i was 6, and everywhere i go, everyone knows who Metallica is.
Their sound might have changed, and they might not be as heavy as they once were, but they still have some wicked guitar licks. Lars is awesome on the drums, and their lyrics are pretty damn good.
If you dont like metallica thats fine, go listen to some pop music.

and for the whole Napster cry, get over it, Metallica stood up for what was right and im glad they did it. just like anyone else that holds a copyright or patent on something, its there to protect you, and when people bypass that and download illegally, something needs to be done.
Also, about a week after DM came out, i googled "Death magnetic CD" and the first link was a download to the whole CD.
If you dont like DM, dont buy it. Metallica Rocks, Pirating is wrong, and You suck.

i live in a town of 1000 people Walker and work in a place that has 30 or so employees. Now while working on projects, we also have what the client wants, but there is always instances where there are different ways to do it. We have the chance to suggest ideas doing meetings about the projects, and our company is always taking suggestions about work env. etc ..
But the easiest thing to do, is just talk to your supervisor, "Hey, i have an idea about this ...". also, if you want to back it up, its always better to have some good research about what you want. Ive always found that if you want to push something, you have to push it your self, the boss isn't going to help if hes not ready to implement. So information on the subject, maybe a presentation ready, some good resources, and then prepare a speech for what you want.
like any good sales person, you should be able to sell a ketchup Popsicle to a lady in white gloves.
And just remember that they might shoot you down, but I'm sure your opinion will be more valuable the more they find that you always have something worthwhile to investigate.

The big thing is people need to be able to handle a file format that everyone uses, which, unfortunately, is the MS format. Now dont get me wrong, i hate windows with a passion, but sadly enough i make my pay through MS products, and i an forced to do so, because open source cant do what MS apps can. There is no equivalent to :
MS office suit (OOO doesnt cut it)
    MS SQL management studio
    Visual Studio (.NET development)
    IE for testing apps
And im sure there's people just like me that run proprietary software, that is only on windows (I run ESRI ArcGIS software)
As much as i love linux, the tools aren't there for developing the way I need.
THEREFORE: I wouldn't mind one of these laptops (although its not like my Dell inspiron doesnt allready have XP and slackware) because i am a slacker, and i still need Windows to make a buck. I think one of the bigger issues is, why would you want a pre installed Linux distro?
