Now in preparation, we need a lot of Blank CD's or P2P programs, and your favorite Microsoft Product!

Thats what im saying, Its a solid OS. and i recommend Solaris over anything else (yet i have never used, AIX, HP-UX, IRIX, etc...). Last time i used Solaris (10) was putting together a Apache/PHP/mysql webserver on a Enterprise 420R server. For like $250 you can get 4 processors and 4 gigs of ram with 72 GIGs HD space on a Sun computer that might not be up to-date, but was very dependable. I chose that other a x86 with OpenBSD or Slackware. Their original sever was a 4xPII Xeon with windows server 2000 that had to be rebooted daily ( it was a hacked server OS i think)
I would guess that Solaris OS would out perform MOST OSes. what is a REAL mainframe OS? Windows? AIX? i know Solaris can go Years without a reboot, and then only reason would be a security update. No from running out of memory or something like that.
Although i know windows sucks, i have never ran AIX. Anyone know if you can d/l AIX for a test drive?

j/k... It think this is great, because OpenBSD is a great OS and is worth downloading an ISO of a live version.
What i dont understand is why you would make it live? this software cant be something you would use for surfing the web or something. More for breaking and entering i would think. thats what im going to use it for... System repairs, although im not sure is BSD supports NTFS? Some quick googling shows that NTFS is not enabled by default and requires a custom kernel.. So did they include it? and do i get a copy of rainbowCrack with it?

Ive never seen a System Z, and then only Sun boxes I've ever seen in real life are the ones I've owned. But from my experience with Solaris, and Sparc, Its the best damn arch/OS ever made. Im a big Linux fan (my/. nickname is a joke;) ) But if it were up to me, id run everything Sun

I think he's referring to how most of us can't just clean the 'crap' off our computers, because those are the programs that we need for work i.e. visual Studio, Outlook, SQL server management...
It takes my computer a few minutes to boot up (that's when I get something to drink, have a smoke) and then you have things like virusware (AVG, Norton, McAfee) that take awhile to load, and my AVG likes to start scanning in the morning if my computer was off the night before.
Windows DOES boot quickly but after 6 months of building programs with it, it gets sluggish
Lastly, before you start filling out The Form for this, the idea won't work for the lazy, the stupid, nor will it work standalone without the support of other good ideas.
