This is true. A big selling point for me is the linux support. Im still not sure how ATIs driver base stands with linux, could someone fill me in? I still feel the Nvidia is a better card, and is better built (Quite down back there!), But parent is true, If i did get my new laptop and my card was bad, Dell and Nvidia would hear from me ... but i guess im not getting a new laptop for a another year, so hopefully everything will be ok by then :)

This is really too bad. I'm sure that I am like everyone else (right, everyone has hair in funny places?) where you have your brands that you like. Ive always been a Nvidia person (well, after 3dfx), and it's really disappointing to see this happen. I guess I know its going to get better, they will make sure that in the future they dont have this problem. There will be those people that will never use Nvidia again because of this. I do know, that my next laptop, will be a Dell, and it will have a sweet ass Nvidia card in it. Im keeping faith in them.
for everyone that had a laptop die. Sorry bout your luck, um, HP DOES suck, and Nvidia will come through, hopefully they will make things right with their consumers, otherwise there business is going down faster than my karma rating.

Yes listening to music as loud levels is bad for your ears. I learned this at a young age from my parents lecturing me. But just like smoking, I like loud music too much to turn it down. There is nothing like listening to "For whom the bell tolls" at 100% volume.

  7. Re:Fuel economy on Fuel Efficiency and Slow Driving? · · Score: 1

The key is to drive a manual transmission and to hold in the clutch whenever you can(especially downhill) so that the car coasts(runs at idle) as much as possible. And don't engine brake because that is poor form and is retarded. Use your damn brakes.

I'm sorry, but i think both of those statements are retarded. First off, i doubt you will get better gas mileage if you keep pressing your clutch, because you can only coast so far. Drive your car at 'cruising' speed. You know, when if feels like you are barely touching the pedal but your car is maintaining speed. Thats when you'll use the least amount of fuel. Also, clutching will wear your clutch more. And anyone that drives a lot of sticks, knows that this is bad form.

Also, engine break has no effects on your engine, it doesn't hurt your engine, and it doesn't use any fuel. When you engine break, you are shifting power from your drive train into the engine, instead of the other way around. Therefore your engine is basically turned off on the slow downs because the computer basically shutoff fuel going to your engine (its not needed).
Engine breaking is a very efficient way to save your breaks. Especially if your hauling (ever heard of Jake breaks?). If its so bad, why do some many truck drivers do it?

I think a lot of evolution has to do with lifestyle. Diet and exercise help, but im thinking more of immunity. As a kid, i ate dirt, and stuff like that, and i think it made me less receptive to disease and sickness. When the cold goes around the office, i hardly get sick, thanks elmer's glue! there are all these kids these days that are so protected from what can hurt them, and since their body never comes in contact with them, It doesn't know what to expect. Your body will never evolve if it doesn't need to. Our little toe is going away because we dont need it. But i bet there are some parts of our bodies that are still evolving. maybe our lungs are getting stronger and more tolerable to infection, from smoking and air pollution. Maybe our feet are getting shorter because we dont run as much. we'll see in a few million years if this doctor is on to something. until then, im gonna go eat some more dirt ;)
