There is no reason to make them look good. If you on a group of people who are all motivate and learning and want to actual fix things, then worry about the 'greater war'.
I am a software programmer. I know a lot of programmers, go to a lot of user groups. I can't think of any who would fit your description. OTOH thjos people probably would go to a User Group meeting or in any circle the discusses changing technology, so my sample, though large, is too one sided. I know many who would want to ask a lot of questions because the change needs to fit the complex needs of the organization, but that's not the same thing. Although it is often confused as the same thing. Many times I have hears I don't like change as a res;ponce when the advocate of said change can't explain how the change will deal with some pretty specific engineering demands.

"Consider that in general private education regularly has better results at dramatically less cost " That's not actually true. It's not even close to true if you remove the schools that are 25k+per year out of the equation.
AS it turns out, Home school 'success' are the minority; however home school institution remove many home schools from there number as 'religious schools' only keeping the success stories.

What you post tells me is that you don't know how to think rationally.
The UN is not a government. It is not a king. It is not a Dictator.
It is an organization where representatives of some countries agree to certain basic principles. It's a place where countries can public air their difference. It's a place where different country Representative will be meeting with each other.
You're complaint, just like almost every other complaint against the UN, is based in ignorance of why the UN exists.
Except that seems highly unlikely, give the fact that this also involves people who ahd nothing to do with either WW, and we we don't have a generation who really remembers them.

I don't know about the person who posted, but I have no desire to gain the respect of lazy unmotivated people, much less make their lives easier.
He should immediately look for work at place that respect talent as part of their culture, not some exception that has to me managed.
On of the problems with his question is that he doesn't tell us what he means bu IT.
Help desk? DBA? Software Engineer?
"I believe most IT people are interested in fancy new technology,"
My experience is that in the broadest definition, that's not true at all.
Some people are hard worker and not innovators.
They still do, maybe you just suck? Or maybe you're just some guy that grabbed a perl book and called himself 'Sys Admin'?

Who wants to have a beer with those people?
I prefer beer with people who are actually interesting.

His argument isn't specious. It's supported by a lot of evidences.
Did you read it? No, just jump to your stupid post completed ignoring the fact that he mentions between smaller states and within those states.
He is correct in his assertion.
Can you please tell me the whereabouts of Carmen San Diego and/or Waldo?
And? there both doing it, they both get corporate money.
They both want to turn everything over to corporations.
