This gets explained every time there is a news item related to gnome. You can write OO in C just fine, if you don't like how it looks, it does not make it bad. C is much more portable then C++. gcc has only recently gotten decient C++ support, Finally, the debug support in gdb is much more mature then C++, so it is easier to debug C programs in gdb.
That's funny, My installiation of Redhat 7.1 didn't start any daemons by default. It also installed only the packages I asked it to. You fucking Slackware assholes like to think your so advanced because you love to waste your time on compiling all your stuff from source. I'm a programmer and I compile some things from scratch, but not everything.
could it have to do with the fact that it was already in the process of getting pressed into CD before all the new expoits where fixed? it does take longer then 2 days to manufacture box sets at the volume Redhat does.
Damn it, doesn't anyone do any research? They use it because the userland tools for rieserFS are not completely ready yet, and ext3 provides an easy way to migrate from ext2.

Now those kick ass. That's exactly what I would be looking for in a phone/pda combination.
Oh please. For the average user Gnome + KDE are not that difficult to use, and you don't need much training to find your way around. Most users can't (or don't want to) change their screen resolution. Just give them a standard desktop and some training and they'll be fine.

Editing configuration files by hand is fine, but what you have to realize is that unlike the stupid registry in windows, the ODM does not get corrupted on a regular basis. It was designed to be reliable from the start.

Believe it or not, COBOL is supported by CORBA. Object oriented COBOL exists also.

Could it be that some people actually prefer C?
or they use GTK-- (The C++ binding?), the python bindings, or the of the many other bindings?
Just because you like C++ doesn't mean everyone else does.
