"Sadly, the Mozilla Organization does not seem to grasp just how far behind schedule is the Mozilla Project and just how buggy is the Mozilla browser-suite. Or, perhaps it does not grasp the importance of quality workmanship and producing software products that are not full of bugs."
Other people tend to forget that Microsoft has been found to be a monopolist.
As such they should not be able to leverage their monopoly (the desktop) against competitors in other areas (AOL/MSN).
Some people just like to spout off about free market. The fact is we do NOT live in a completely free market and there are certain actions a monopoly may NOT take under our laws.
"But the very phrase "tech support" has become an oxymoron, an indictment of an arrogant and elitist industry. "
How does it follow that the lack of tech support is due to arrogance or elitist? I think it basically comes down to the fact that the cost of tech support is not factored into the cost of most products.
To praise microsoft for their level of support while paying for it, and condemning those who offer it for free, but don't charge is ignorant.
Mindspring does NOT provide you high speed internet access. They provide you service over a line (cable or phone) that is provided by your telephone company, cable company or CLEC.
The concern is the death, recent or impending, of the CLECs. (i.e. northpoint, rythms, covad), not the ISPs.
The companies providing high speed are the bells (Verizon, SBC, BellSouth, etc), cable companies (ATT, RCN, etc) and Covad/Rythms.
While some things sound nice....
Shouldn't things like multi-head monitor support be in X. Any why is ODBC like functionality now in my GUI toolkit?????
Quick someone get the Midol to relieve the bloat.
This is exactly right.
The fact that Mhz has become so ingrained as indicative of overall performance is clearly shown by the posters statement.

Good thing he's here to point this out.
What a self righteous momo.
When is the MAX_MAP_COUNT fix going to make it into the mainstream kernel?
Devo machine...it's all about compile time.
(Get yourself a good disk too)
thats it
I cringe whenever someone says something like that.
1) Choice is a good thing.
2) Write your pages to W3c standards.
3) Last I heard MS wasn't building IE for Linux

No kidding.
I'm surprised KDE isn't KWindows or WindowsKDP.

(Don't bother, I don't use it for web sites)
exactly.
To repeat what another poster stated (and has mistakenly been moderated down), redskin is a racial epithet.
You don't see the LA wetbacks or the Tremont tar babies. How about the California cooters or the Hackensack Hoes for the WNBA?
Or are those names ok for you?
Why is this modded to 5?
It's not insightful, its petty. It's not even applicable.
Now if the poster had mentioned the irony of questionable startups writing about the failures of other quetsionable startups...
But that's exactly my point.
The cost of DSL should be raised to include paying for competent tech support.
...and condemning those who offer it for free, but don't charge is ignorant...
errr, you know what I meant here...

So, Anonymous Coward, who are you and what do you have to gain/lose by all of this?

Except, didn't I read somewhere that those things are like a huge aerosol can, a puncture to the engine/tank and kaboom?
If you can afford an $80000 car (approx) then 3 grand for a battery is chump change
